@hannahvcurran This is a major concern when living on an island where almost everything must be imported. While the transportation deteriorates nutritional value, steaming or cooking food does the same thing. Therefore, a healthy raw food diet seems to be more of a task here in NL. #HKR1000

After watching the “Food Matters” video for #HKR1000, I have learned that the nutritional value of food lessens as you cook it or even lightly steam it. Studies show that by doing so to your raw foods, you lose the valuable enzymes within them that help with digestion.

@DanielleWoodfo2 Absolutely, Danielle. The impact on our environment, and consequently ourselves, from automobiles today is unhealthy. Catching the bus only takes around 10 extra minutes to get to school, and is a great alternative.

81.9% of my #HKR1000 class feel they demonstrate a good sense of humour. This is great news, as humour helps maintain optimism and stress release. A sense of humour is also a great promoter for social exchanges.
