@Jestopher_BTC Cyprus financial crisis in 2013. Where the announcement of a bailout of their banks by the EU included a haircut (stealing money) from the people. Bitcoin's value double from around $40 to $80 immediately after.

To follow up on this tweet, I unfortunately had to cancel with trip at the last minute do to COVID travel restrictions and I live in NYC. It was a good call because Lebanon restricted all travel on March 23rd, while I would have still been in country.
