To the degree “Britain is finished” it’s because we have become one of the most anti-wealth, anti-success, anti-growth nanny states in the developed world.
The nation that birthed the Industrial Revolution, invented modern capitalism, governed 25% of the world’s population and invented swaths of technologies that the world relies on today… is suddenly afraid of a little inequality.
The truth is however that we don’t have rampant inequality at all.
By all measures we are a normal economy…
- Wealth of the top 1% has been stable for 40+ years. There’s no data that says it’s “out of control”
- Wealth at the bottom 50% is in line with the rest of the world’s major economies.
- Our Gini-coefficient is middle of the pack for the G20 nations.
So… Where are we going wrong?
- Our economic freedom index rating is falling. It shows that economic freedom is down significantly because we are over-taxed and over-regulated.
- The ratio of government spending to GDP is sky high (45% of GDP). We’re losing our free market system because almost half the economy is government spending NOT market driven spending.
- Taxation is at an all time high point. It’s wildly progressive relative to our past and our peers. The top rate of tax kicks in at 3x the average while the USA has a lower top rate that kicks in at 7x the average. Minimum wage is pegged at 60% of the median - one of the highest in the world. All of this is to say that we’re so safeguarded from danger that we can’t actually get ahead!
- Wage suppression through taxation cliffs is holding back productivity.
- We have socialist ideologues in senior roles across government who LOVE the idea of the nanny state. They think economic growth is government growth. They think it’s dangerous for wealth to be in the hands of individuals. They think “wealthy people” are people who “have savings”.
- we have a government that is painfully unaware that new technology erodes the value of jobs at the bottom and increased competition through open-door migration suppresses wages too.
We’re trying to tax the country into growth. It doesn’t work.
Gary wants to create equality by making the country poorer and it doesn’t benefit anyone.
Instead of worrying about inequality we should be focused on making the country richer and raising living standards.
Fable 5 just turned my company into a video game.
Instead of assigning boring tasks, you give people quests.
Here’s why I think this could change how companies operate:
1) Work becomes more engaging
People can see what they need to do, complete quests, earn XP, and level up.
2) Progress becomes visible
Instead of wondering who’s performing, you can see completed quests, levels, achievements, and contributions over time.
3) Rewards become tied to performance
Certain roles, bonuses, and opportunities can be unlocked when someone completes specific quests or reaches a certain level.
4) Incentives can become automatic
In the future, bonuses could be triggered through smart contracts and paid in stablecoins when predefined goals are reached.
5) Companies can access talent differently
If the business becomes an open world, people outside the company could discover available quests, complete the work, and earn rewards.
6) Work becomes more fun
The same mechanics that keep people playing games, progression, challenges, rewards, and achievement, can be applied to work.
The bigger idea is that your company stops feeling like a list of tasks and starts feeling like a world people can progress through.
I’m building this via Fable 5 right now.

Is this complicity?
I filmed multiple groups of illegal migrants purchasing around 10–12 life jackets with crisp €50 notes, spending approximately €300 in one transaction.
The life jackets were bought from Decathlon in Dunkirk, close to the largest illegal migrant camp in France.
I then followed the group back to the camp, where they appeared to be preparing for a future small-boat crossing to the UK.
You decide.

“The Brexit effect is trivial, there's practically no Brexit effect, neither positive nor negative”
On this episode of The @Econoclasts, @EuroBriefing and @yanisvaroufakis discuss what impact - if any - Brexit has had on the British economy.
The root cause of everything wrong is the mental illness of socialism. It was easier to galvanise hatred of it when it had nuclear weapons pointing at us across the iron curtain.
It has now riddled every aspect of society it dictates policy on immigration, human rights law, the enshitification of public services, the theft of private wealth and the desire for enterprise. It has strangled the population in lanyards in meek subserviance through benefit payments and punishing free speech.
Until socialists are treated as the dangerous mentally unwell lunatics they are, nothing will be resolved.
More renewable energy. More immigration. More tax. More regionalism.
An Andy Burnham government isn’t a new direction for Britain but doubling down on what got us in this mess ….
The Guardian quotes Max Wilkinson, a Lib Dem home affairs spokespman, and Stella Creasy, a backbench Labour MP, saying these claims by @UnderSecPD about "Da Yookay" are "conspiracy theories".
But which one of these claims is untrue?
"In ‘Da Yookay’, you can be remanded without bail for an inflammatory tweet, while a psychopath who seizes a three-year-old and feeds him to crocodiles walks free.
“In ‘Da Yookay’, the moral sense of jurors won’t save you, because jury trials for speech crimes are abolished.
"In ‘Da Yookay’, a girl can escape from a rape gang, flag down a police constable and discover the cop is in league with the rapists.
“In ‘Da Yookay’ you get a free car for pretending to be disabled.
"In ‘Da Yookay’ cops defer to a murderer who calls his victim racist. Then they handcuff you as you bleed to death if you’re white.”
Never forget what Starmer (and Reeves) have done...
All the "red" represents tens of thousands of lives ruined, thousands of businesses closed, and more debt for our children.
And it was all so avoidable.
Apparently Starmer feels betrayed. Now he knows how we feel. He betrayed the entire country by lying his way into power and imposing policies nobody voted for. He attacked pensioners. He tried to bankrupt farmers. He instituted a nakedly two tier justice system which actively discriminates against the white British in favour of foreigners. He played down and covered up the rape of thousands of English girls by gangs of Muslim savages. He’s trying to impose mass censorship, a digital ID, and a surveillance society on people who have made it clear they don’t want it. He’s trying to rejoin the EU by stealth. If there was any actual justice in this country he would go to prison for what he has done.
Keir Starmer, February 2026:
"I will never walk away from the mandate I was given to change this country."
Keir Starmer, June 2026:
“I resign.”
Good riddance! 👋🏽
