Anole of the day: Anolis valencienni, Jamaican twig anole. @jamesTstroud found our first one today, here's a picture of an individual from last spring.
On my way back to Jamaica ๐ฏ๐ฒ with @JonJSuh so he can take photos like these (!) and we can๐คdiscover something fascinating! ๐คซ ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ @AnoleAnnals#scicomm
I forgot to mention I had another photo run for the cover of the May issue of @Biotropica. Again, to accompany a great article by @jamesTstroud and @Mishi_Thompson on the importance of collecting basic data in the tropics.
Forgot to mention... this photo accompanies the wonderful paper on the ecological interactions of a novel lizard community in Bermuda by @jamesTstroud @stgiery and company. Thanks to James to submitting my photos for consideration.
@InaVandebroek Nice, looks to be Anolis grahami. This is a more arboreal species and adult males can be a vibrant blue/turquoise.... or just gray and brown haha.
After two months of lizarding with @jamesTstroud plus a bonus lizard vacation in Puerto Rico, the first thing I do when I get back to NY is... find more lizards. Plenty of Podarcis here for ya @colindonihue ! #cantstopwontstop#lizard
Everyone's favorite anole, the brown anole (Anolis sagrei), in its full glory. This individual from Andros was really flared up. @jamesTstroud#anole#lizard
