If you know you’re going to cut payroll, then you’re going to be more dependent on the drafting and development of talent.
Why would you bring back Mike Hazen and Torey Lovullo to oversee that type of organization and roster?
Both have absolutely brutal track records. The D-Backs farm was SO bad that they couldn’t make a meaningful deal at the deadline while their peers made multiple.
We won’t see the D-Backs back in the playoffs until Hazen and Torey are removed.
Two playoff appearances in ten seasons.
Only in Arizona is that tolerated.
@adampnathan Love these posts and the detail.
I don’t think it explains the true “why” he said it though. He has been petitioning the government and laying the foundation to try and take over AA, creating a duopoly in the US. He’s trying to make everyone believe it’s the only option.
@adampnathan Very good point.
I have a choice in Phoenix between Southwest and American. American can take me to places that I actually want to take my family globally, not just those I need to go to for business.
Flying American, I do feel buyers remorse when I see the sexy destinations.
@MikeS_pty@swagman95@AmericanAir What has happened to you? Missing a flight or a gate change?
They don’t even assign gates in Europe until 2 hours before the flight.
@MikeS_pty@swagman95@AmericanAir Not really. It’s pretty simple. I fly every week and I always assume the original gate is going to change, because it usually does. There is a reason why thy provide an app and monitors throughout the airport. 🤷♂️
Nobody is buying this, but both the organization and Ketel’s camp know they don’t have to. It doesn’t have to be believable. They are counting on the team’s media to once again carry their water and cover more untruths.
You’ll hear from Hazen, Hall and Torey that they “don’t want to get into details” publicly.
When Ketel comes back, there will be less than 20 games left in the season. Both parties likely agreed it was in neither’s best interest to erode his trade value any further with a suspension or public accountability.
This way, both sides avoid public accountability and they can seek a trade in the offseason.
Everyone wins in this scenario except the fans who must endure one more coverup and the players in the clubhouse who must continue their playoff race with one final distraction.
WOW. Why isn’t this everywhere?
“Ketel Marte does not want to keep playing for Arizona.”
Ketel Marte (ketel_marte4) liked this IG post from his official handle.
Dodgers fans, let’s make a deal. Mark Walter’s scheme is on the verge of collapse. If MLB agrees to force the liquidation of the Dodgers, the folding of the franchise, the vacating of their 2020, 2024 and 2025 World Series titles, and supports the federal investigation resulting in jail time for Walter, then in turn, the owners should drop the push for a salary cap. It’s only fair for “ruining baseball.”
Baseball doesn’t need a salary cap.
It just needs:
— The Dodgers liquidated
— The franchise folded
— The “rings” vacated
— The stadium demolished
— Walter prosecuted
🐍The D-Backs took care of business, but could not complete the sweep yesterday afternoon in Atlanta, falling 1 game out of the final NL Wild Card.
(4:10pm) The Snakes are in Boston tonight to face a Sox team that has cool considerably. Rookie Mitch Bratt will get the ball against a Boston opener, who will likely be followed by RHP Brayan Bello (4-6, 4.84 ERA).
A rare poor outing for Garcia as he struggled with his control, fell behind Olson 3-0 and surrendered a 3-run bomb.
The D-Backs settle for a series win in Atlanta.
