Some notes on the Canes as they move into the offseason:

Per Mike Futa, Carolina was asked to include Pyotr Kochetkov in a deal for Vincent Trocheck, and that's why the trade never happened.

Per Chris Johnston, Carolina chose Logan Stankoven over Jason Robertson in the Mikko Rantanen trade that sent him to Dallas.

Per David Pagnotta, the Hurricanes believe that Elias Pettersson would thrive with a change of scenery and within Carolina's system.

Per Jeff Marek and David Pagnotta, the Hurricanes have explored offering Jesperi Kotkaniemi and additional assets to Vancouver in an attempt to acquire Elias Pettersson.
