What Actually is PEPE Memecoin?
Launched in April 2023 (a stealth launch, with no fixed announcement date), Pepe (@pepecoineth) (ethereum:0x6982508145454ce325ddbe47a25d4ec3d2311933) is an Ethereum-based memecoin inspired by the Pepe the Frog internet meme.
Unlike many crypto projects, PEPE was not introduced with a complex protocol or a major utility-focused roadmap.
Instead, its identity is closely tied to internet culture, community activity, and speculation around memecoin markets.
Here’s what you need to know about the memecoin:
(1) It is built on Ethereum
PEPE is an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum, meaning it uses Ethereum’s existing blockchain infrastructure for transactions and transfers.
(2) It is primarily a memecoin
PEPE does not operate its own blockchain or provide a major decentralized application ecosystem.
Its market appeal largely comes from the Pepe the Frog meme, online communities, and trading activity.
(3) Its supply is extremely large, with no built-in transaction tax
PEPE launched with a supply of 420.69 trillion tokens, giving it a very different unit price structure from scarce cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
Its contract was also renounced shortly after launch, meaning no one, including the creators, can mint more tokens or alter the rules.
(4) It gained attention quickly
PEPE attracted major interest shortly after launching, becoming one of the most recognizable memecoins outside the original Dogecoin and Shiba Inu wave.
(5) Community plays a major role
Like other memecoins, PEPE relies heavily on social attention and community participation rather than traditional cash flows or protocol revenue.
This makes its market behavior closely connected to sentiment, liquidity, and broader interest in memecoins.
So, ethereum:0x6982508145454ce325ddbe47a25d4ec3d2311933 is essentially an Ethereum-based memecoin built around internet culture rather than a traditional blockchain utility model.
Joe Rogan's wildlife biologist guest goes on a "f*cking tirade" about how the Gates Foundation "absolutely collapsed" one of Africa's most abundant fisheries that feeds millions of people, all in the name of "avoiding malaria."
The more he talks, the angrier he gets.
FORREST GALANTE: "Do you know what they did fucking in the Cahora Bassa Delta with their mosquito nets?"
ROGAN: "No. What'd they do?"
GALANTE: "Dude, I'm gonna go on a f*cking tirade here."
ROGAN: "Please do."
GALANTE: "Okay, so the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation decided that there was too much malaria in Africa, right? Which you and I could probably agree with. Malaria is bad. So what did they do? They gave all of these people living in tribal villages.
"I totally pirated your thing. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna go on a fucking rant here. They gave all these people living in the Cahora Bassa Delta, which is the breadbasket of the Zambezi Valley, meaning, like, where more fish are born. It's a nursery for fish. Right. Not just there, but this is a good micro example.
"They gave millions of mosquito nets out to all these people to 'avoid malaria.' Guess what the people who are starving to death did with their mosquito nets? They fished with them. They fished with them. Mosquito net has a hole that is so small that a mosquito can't get through. So guess what?
"These mosquito nets now indiscriminately catch tiny baby fish in areas like Cahora Bassa, where the fish go to breed and reproduce and populate. So now all of a sudden, you have thousands and thousands of people that have been handed nets that have been living one way for hundreds of thousands of years.
"They don't give a sh*t about malaria. They have their own way of dealing with malaria. They sit in smoky huts at night, they sleep with a campfire. Everything else, yes, they still get malaria, some of them, but they deal with it their own way. Bill Melinda Gates Foundation come in, hand out millions of mosquito nets, absolutely collapse the entire population of fish that feed millions of people.
"Because these people just take the nets and fish all the baby fish out so that those fish don't grow up to make substantial protein sources. So now these wonderful 'philanthropists' that have given out millions of nets, have destroyed an ecosystem, crashed a fish population and created widespread hunger for people that otherwise had plenty of resources, all because they were trying to 'help' with their mosquito nets."
ROGAN: "Oh, God."
GALANTE: "It's just like. It's a f*cking disaster, dude. They've taken such a rich and important part of Africa, one of the most abundant freshwater fisheries in the world, and destroyed it. Because they're 'helping' by handing out mosquito nets."
ROGAN: "Good God."
GALANTE: "Yeah, I know. Sorry. I told you I'd go on a rant, but it's like, it's so bad what's happened over there. And they're still giving out mosquito nets, by the way. And you literally watch these guys line up, take a mosquito net, and it never goes in their house. It goes straight to catching fish that are this big [tiny] for them to eat."
ROGAN: "Oh, God…"
Jay Leno says a widow tried to sell him a Ferrari for $350,000, so he helped her turn it into $3,750,000 instead.
“I get enough free stuff like that, that’s right, that’s very nice. You don’t need to start screwing people over.”
“I said, ‘If I can get you close to 4 million for that car, will you bake me some cookies?’ And she said, ‘Why? It’s not worth that much.’ I go, ‘It’s worth that much.’”
“I don’t like it when I hear people tell me a story how they screwed some old guy out of a car. I hate those kind of stories. I like these kind of stories.”
Elon Musk just said the one thing about America they made sure you’d never learn.
The one thing that should’ve made you proud, not ashamed.
Musk: “After World War 2, the US could have basically taken over the world and any country. Like we got nukes, nobody else got nukes. We don’t even have to lose soldiers. Which country do you want?”
One nation held a weapon no civilization had ever possessed.
Total monopoly on destruction. No rival. No consequence. No limit.
Every empire in history that held that kind of power did the only thing empires know how to do.
They took until there was nothing left to take.
America had a greater advantage than all of them combined.
And rebuilt the nations it just defeated.
Musk: “The United States actually helped rebuild countries. So it helped rebuild Europe, it helped rebuild Japan. This is very unusual behavior, almost unprecedented.”
Not almost unprecedented.
It had never happened. Not once in 5,000 years of recorded civilization.
The nation with the power to take everything chose to rebuild instead.
Enemies became allies. Rubble became economies. Surrender became partnership.
Germany went from ashes to the economic engine of Europe in a single generation.
Japan went from unconditional surrender to the third largest economy on earth.
Three years after the war, America was flying food into Berlin.
Into the capital of the country that just tried to end the free world.
That decision reshaped every economy, every alliance, and every trade route on the planet.
Billions of people lifted out of poverty over the next half century trace back to one moment. One nation choosing restraint over domination.
No other country in history can make that claim. Not one.
Musk: “There’s always like, well America’s done bad things. Well of course America’s done bad things, but one needs to look at the whole track record.”
Every nation on earth has blood in its history.
But the measure of a nation was never its worst chapter.
It’s what it does when nobody can stop it.
When nobody could stop America, it fed its enemies and rebuilt their cities.
You’re being told every day that this country is something to be ashamed of.
By people who have no idea what the world looks like without it.
Every free market. Every open border for trade. Every democracy that took root outside Europe stands in the shadow of that single decision.
The values that built this country didn’t just shape America.
They shaped the modern world.
AI is about to hand a small number of people a power advantage that makes nuclear monopoly look primitive.
1945 was the first test.
AI is the last.
That power is going to exist. The only question left is who holds it.
The most powerful thing America ever did wasn’t building the bomb.
It was having the power to take everything and choosing not to.
The people trying hardest to tear that story down have never built a single thing worth defending.
"Crypto" is going to zero. Bitcoin is going to 1M+.
I've been working on Bitcoin since early 2013 when it was ~$50. First it was going to zero because of Silk Road. Then Mt. Gox. Then governments were going to ban it. Then it was slow technology and it was going to be crushed by all of the other coins. Then Sam Bankman-Fried and FTX were sending it to zero. Now there are new narratives. New people that are far too levered, don't understand Bitcoin, but are somehow here to fix it.
Yet, somehow, here we are. A $1T asset.
Bitcoin has been the best thing I could have poured my life into over the last 13+ years. Meanwhile, trust in governments and their ability to stop destroying the people and their purchasing power has never been worse in those same 13+ years.
At the end of the day, my advice to you: the Bitcoin journey is a hero's journey. You kill your ego. You surrender the idea that you're the all-knower of the future, the main character, and important enough to matter to this thing. Bitcoin doesn't care what you think and it doesn't need your permission. You either have the balls to build conviction in it or you don't. You built Barstool, you know this. There is no free lunch. Nobody gets paid to show up when things are easy. Life isn't charity. Participation trophies are worthless. Those that end up getting paid do so because they build something that was simply too hard for others.
Nobody has to convince you of anything. You have to convince you. If you believe in the government and their ability to not print away your purchasing power, sell us your bitcoins. If you don't and you think Bitcoin is an idea worth believing in, have some guts.
Your choice. Bitcoin has been and will continue to be successful either way. It's on a journey of its own and it will be there for you whenever you're ready.
I believe that gambling is going to become a national epidemic among young men in America.
You can't watch a sports event or scroll social media without getting an ad shoved in your face from a sports book, prediction market, or crypto exchange.
The self-discipline of these young men is no match for the machine learning algorithms optimized to dispense dopamine at the right time to elicit another bet to "make it all back."
What looks like innocent entertainment on the surface will end up destroying families, ravaging personal finances, and pushing bettors to depression or worse.
The capitalist incentives are too strong to slow the direction of travel for the industry and society. The only way to combat the negative side-effects of a gambling society is to give hope to victims that they can recover from the addiction.
That is why I am excited to announce that we have taken an ownership stake in one of the fastest growing media properties in the world: Nothing's Off The Table with Louis Ruggiero. (@nothingsoffpod)
The podcast focuses on addiction recovery, including alcohol, drugs, and gambling.
The host, Louis, personally overcame each of these vices. He lost over $10 million gambling before he was able to emerge on the other side of this vicious issue.
Louis resonates with the target audience because he intimately understands the problem, while simultaneously having the personal experience of successfully navigating the recovery process.
Nothing's Off The Table is doing tens of millions of views per month across platforms and I believe it will become one of the largest media platforms in the world.
We have only seen the start of the gambling epidemic. Louis and his team are prepared to serve as the counter-narrative to rescue young men from the death grip of big corporations who are working diligently to drain the last dollar out of their bank accounts.
I will always bet on optimism.
Please consider checking out the podcast or YouTube channels. This is an important mission that can use all the support it can get.
Joe Rogan ditched his reading glasses completely.
He was battling declining eyesight and macular degeneration, needed them nonstop for his phone.
Started red light therapy (plus a supplement) and now? It stopped deteriorating and even improved slightly. Gary Brecka said the same thing happened to him.
Multiple studies (including UCL research on 670nm deep red light) show morning red/near-infrared exposure can boost mitochondrial function in retinal cells, improving color contrast and vision in aging eyes. FDA even authorized a photobiomodulation device for early dry AMD.
Simple, non-invasive tools might actually help push back against age-related vision loss.
What’s one thing that’s surprisingly improved your health or performance lately?
