@megbasham@EWErickson You have issues with Keller the way people have Trump derangement syndrome. You have got to stop bringing him up everytime you want to make a point.
@Fair_and_Biased@conservmillen The infallibility of scripture is not dependent on the morality of the people in it. There is no assessment given on Esther & her 2nd day of fighting. Some say it’s wise, others suspicious. The theme is certainly reversal, but that doesn’t always mean endorsement of choices.
@conservmillen So it’s not enough to deport illegals; it’s don’t let those kinds of people in? Allowing legal immigration from these places doesn’t mean letting everyone in. If ICE can determine dangerous illegals why are they incapable of determining who is a safe immigrant from these places.
@megbasham What “conservative” are you wanting? There is a difference between politically and Christian conservative. You can believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, substitionary atonement, marriage as 1 man 1 woman and still not agree with MAGA.
@megbasham He didn’t say don’t wield power. He said don’t wield power the way the world does. If you don’t think power will tempt you to wield it the wrong way, you literally are rejecting how our country was built. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. @philvischer
@MikeCosper I appreciate you and you’re not a leftist. But if Grok is right you haven’t tweeted as much about the problems on the left. I don’t know your personal philosophy on using X, but I would say your criticism of the left is assumed on the Bulletin and not always explicitly stated.
@AndrewTWalker This was my biggest issue in my undergrad. I’ve had to work to take it out of my preaching because I manuscript! Appreciate your podcast! @BullyPulpitPod
@CovenanttCutt@JohnPiper Seems like everyone who wants to talk about ordered loves forgets that Jesus belongs at the top and there isn’t a close second.
@DDFStrand@DennyBurk@between2worlds@CovenanttCutt@JohnPiper There are no categories when it comes to love of Jesus(Luke 14:26). It is all or nothing when it comes to the Lord. Sure, we can love our family, neighbor, nation, culture in proper order, but that should look like hate compared to our love of Jesus. This is basic discipleship.
@JoshuaReich@megbasham Come on guys. There are multiple men and one woman at this. You’re telling me that doesn’t qualify as teaching people “together?” Apollos then literally goes out to teach from the scriptures. You’re telling me Pricilla and Aquila had no impact on that or anything to teach him?
@megbasham@JoshuaReich This is where the Pricilla and Aquila passage applies. This cohort is men and women helping pastors preach God’s word faithfully. That is literally what is happening in Acts 18.
@jonharris1989@justinifountain Isn’t David technically a passive leader here? If he would have dealt with Ammon for raping Tamar he could have avoided Absalom’s rebellion. Not saying his revolt was justified, but David’s not innocent here either.
I'm sharing these quotes because *I* wasn't clear on how Tim Keller defined "third-wayism."
FWIW, it's fine to critique "third-wayism" (see my forthcoming article).
It's also fine to critique Keller.
But if you're critiquing "Keller's third-wayism," show how he defined it!
