Instead of being named Immanuel, which means "God with us," it could have been other names with other meanings:
"God against us."
"God opposed to us."
"God mad at us."
But no, it was Immanuel: "God with us."
Don't be so quick to jump to the celebration of His resurrection. Take time to pray, reflect, and lament. Remember, there is no Resurrection without Crucifixion; No Easter Sunday without Passion Friday; No empty tomb without the Cross.

We American Christians will always be tempted to allow our own freedom, liberty, rights, and comfort to dictate how we exercise loving our neighbor.
Jesus will keep asking us to allow the love of neighbor to dictate how we exercise our own freedom, liberty, rights, and comfort.
