Companies will continue to discount the power of worldbuilding and lore investment to their detriment. Disney learnt this when they assumed Star Wars fans will show up and keep buying action figures as long as something looks like a lightsaber and they see a stormtroopers and story didn't really matter just do whatever you want with it. Turns out when you don't care about the story or worldbuilding anymore the fans stop caring about your product. I mean why can't MtG have Spiderman and SpongeBob? nobody really cares about some card games in universe lore and worldbuilding said Hasbro full of confidence. Now all those Spiderman bundles sit collecting dust and Avatar is constantly discounted because they underestimated their own fans investment in a world and something they consider secondary. It's what separates paying out the ass to play Warhammer from buying a cheap bag of plastic green army men and playing the games rules with those. It's the reason other much cheaper sci fi tabletop games don't take off because nobody is invested in the story or it's generic lore. Doesn't matter how great the models look, it's what those plastic army men represent that makes people spend £30 on one.
GIVEAWAY: Snuck this out of the @DanielDefense warehouse to give to one of you. Pretty simple, Repost and Follow and you are entered. Winner will be announced next weekend!
