@WD_____40@empireofthekop@TEAMtalk This would be the key. He'd be used to 200k ish (?), which is Β£10m over a year in salary. Personally I'd go for it, but they might think they'd rather use that Β£10m elsewhere
@stehoare It was. But that cant be an excuse.
It was also the 1st game of the season for a Tonali & Bruno less Newcastle with an even newer manager who were leading 2-1 on 90mins.
@MrSilentMoves@PaulSenior1 Well we'll just have to disagree on this one. I think the arrival of Diomande would have an impact on Barcola getting less minutes which was the point I was trying to make. I think Doue may switch to the left more as well with Akilouche coming in too
@MrSilentMoves@PaulSenior1 Then this is the point entirely. Add Diomande into the mix, suddenly the left hand side starting position is Kvara or its Doue when it's not Kvara. The arrival of Diomande means Barcola will be further down the pecking order
@MrSilentMoves@PaulSenior1 Not wrong. Diomandes arrival will see him pushed down the pecking order as Doue will play less on the right and more on the left. The arrival of Diomande will mean much less playing time for Barcola. He'll replace him in terms of time
@MrSilentMoves@PaulSenior1 Prefers. But all can play both sides. Kvarats 1st choice on left Doue 2nd choice on left. Barcola is then what? 3rd choice?!
@MrSilentMoves@PaulSenior1 It's not about sharing mins. Point was PSG valuing Barcola a β¬150m player but only value Diomande at max β¬100m player. But Diomande will be higher in their pecking order to start /off the bench. Kvats & Doue, Diomande & Dembele will all be ahead of him
@StoneCold_Larry@LFC Love Bobby, but no way in top 10... Salah, Barnes, Rush, Gerrard, Souness, Hansen, VVD, Dalglish, Hunt, Liddel, Keegan all above Bobby
@Knox_Harrington@Knox_Harrington thoughts on doing it in same month as Xabi was available? Is Edwards/Hughes that much against Xabi that he was never an option?
@PaulSenior1 Looks certain doesn't it. Makes you think that the owners definitely didn't want Xabi... the fact he was available and they must have known the likely outcome of Slot
@KarlThyer Or maybe perhaps done it before the last day of the summer transfer window. Massive ball dropped.
I know other defenders are out there but other English defenders when our non-homegrown quota is maxed?
@GrizzKhan It's the nature of those wins. Yes we haven't been at our best, but when was the last time we were? Look at goals. Barca scored 21, conceded 5. Bayern scored 22- 3. We are 12 and 7.
I know we're not at our best. But we've shown NO signs of getting there
@TheFheasant@empireofthekop@MarkBrusCOS@caughtoffside Konate is a better defender, so price difference justified.
[Disclaimer: some may disagree, but we'd rather keep Konate than lose him & Real Madrid want him, so I think the clubs think that too]
