This is not an accurate description of events at all.
I was part of a delegation of speakers, who wished to peacefully carry and lay flowers in memory of children in Gaza who had been killed.
This was facilitated by the police. We did not force our way through.
When we reached Trafalgar Square, we informed police that we would go no further, lay down flowers and disperse.
At that point, the Chief Steward, Chris Nineham was arrested. We then turned back and dispersed.
I urge the police to release all bodycam footage and retract its misleading account of events.
"Your channel refers to Palestinians as prisoners, even the children arrested without trial, & the Israelis as hostages, is again a racialised othering of Palestinians that has allowed the genocide to happen for 15 months"
@GhassanAbuSitt1 yesterday
"Without the Western media, this genocide would never have been possible."
British journalist Owen Jones spoke out against Western media for suppressing coverage of Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Jones condemned the silence of Western media, describing it as complicity in the face of unimaginable atrocities and condemned journalists for failing to express solidarity with their colleagues, even in the face of what he described as 'the biggest massacre of journalists in human history'.
He made these remarks during a demonstration in central London, where over 100,000 people gathered to demand an end to the genocide in Gaza, despite last-minute restrictions imposed by the Metropolitan Police, which many viewed as an attempt to stifle the protest.
Young victim of Israel’s pager attack tells Iraqi TV “I was playing on my phone at home. I heard the pager ring, I didn't know that sound. I grabbed it, and I barely had time to press OK before it exploded”
When Biden officials make pager jokes, this is what they’re laughing at:
How many times have you heard UK broadcasters say “Pakistani grooming gangs” despite 2% of Pakistanis being responsible for child sexual abuse?
88% are white British.
How many times has Musk or Farage been the headline?
They’re normalising/amplifying far right narratives.
