@HaroldMouhan@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor And paid out dividends? Yes, a Ponzi. Without, it's just a risky/leveraged investment.
Funds that buy and hold things like gold and BTC for cash, ETFs and closed funds etc, aren't pretending to have cash flow and arent diluting their holdings per share. That's the difference.
@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor Look up the definition of Ponzi Scheme. It is an investment without profits that pays out old investors with new investors' money. That is exactly what MSTR is, and in all this time you haven't shown otherwise, just that they have lots of money.
Good luck, and get out early.
@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor "All bitcoin has to do [is] increase..." Even the best assets experience longterm down swings.
Again, all you've established is that it is a large, well capitalized Ponzi.
Buy Bitcoin! I did a decade ago and held. Don't pay others to gamble for you when they get paid up front.
@GbtNFT@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor I appreciate that. One more point: MSTR doesn't own land filled with Bitcoin under it, or even mine Bitcoin at all. Bitcoin miners are also risky, but not straight out Ponzi schemes like MSTR. At least they produce something which they can (hopefully) sell for a profit.
@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor Mr Ponzi himself also had many investors who were convinced he would make them rich. Some even GET rich in Ponzi schemes if they get in and out early enough. But that doesn't change facts; they don't produce revenue and they pay out income with new investor money. That's a Ponzi.
@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor All you've established is that it is a large Ponzi scheme.
I have some Bitcoin, have for years. I'm not 100% sold on it, but at least you can't just issue a million new Bitcoin whenever you need to pay off your stockholders, like you can with MSTR.
@GbtNFT@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor Those companies (mostly) generate actual cash flow doing actual business. They don't just buy Bitcoin.
Whatever you think of Bitcoin, MSTR is a Ponzi scheme riding on its hype.
@Jasonke81574085@PeterSchiff@saylor New investors (buying the newly issued shares) are funding the payouts to existing investors (the preferred holders). The company doesn't generate cash flow; that should have been your first clue.
