The biggest thing I wanted to highlight in talking to this news company was to highlight the corruption in Oakland's City Hall and the unfair treatment of working class landlords. @nikki4oakland @DanKalb@Kaplan4Oakland Bay Area media has not covered this story to the degree it deserves. Oakland leaders were corrupt, inept and absolute unjust in their treatment of working class landlords. They talk junk about helping black folks with reparations but it is BS because a lot of black folks have been forced to sell their generational wealth and leave Oakland for example.
Because of their corrupt ways and actions from an unfair eviction moratorium, we cannot let them slide. They gentrify people of all races. PROPERTY RIGHTS should be respected in all of the United States but this Oakland this City Council tried to take, abuse and use private citizens properties for their evil experiments in housing. Thank you @SiyamakKhorrami and @EpochTimes for allowing me to tell the story of this Oakland City Council. WE NEED TO RECALL ALL OF THEM IMMEDIATELY AND OAKLAND LANDLORDS NEED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! @EastBayRHA@SenecaSpeaks21@bett_yu @pnjaban
I’m told at least seven advertisers have dropped @karaswisher@profgalloway@PivotPod@ProfGMarkets On with Kara Swisher and Raging Moderates, for their incessant calls for the execution of Elon Musk — and their joking about the assassination attempt on President Trump.
I don’t believe in censorship, but advertisers need to decide if they support political violence and this kind of rhetoric
It’s extremely dangerous and disgraceful
I don’t know why a tech company would pay Scott and Karen $10m a year each to endorse violence.
Why pay for Prof G’s private jet and $4,000 hotel suites that he brags about constantly?!?
Disagree with Elon and Trump as much as you want — I certainly do — but endorsing political violence is unacceptable.
An open letter to Elon Musk & the Democrat party,
Please bury the hatchet.
We are now in a post-Trump world, and America is at a crossroads. At home, we have a growing K-shaped economy where those with assets are winning, and those without are losing.
On the world stage, our ability to be at the forefront of economic, social, and technological progress is being challenged by China. This is a fact, like it or not.
A divided country is the worst possible place to be in order to overcome these challenges. We need EVERYONE to come together.
From Elon's standpoint, he will say that he's simply defending himself against unfair and brutal opposition that started during COVID.
From the Dem's standpoint, they will say they are wrongly villainized by someone who has far too much influence and power.
Both things can be true.
But you know what's also true? America benefits TREMENDOUSLY if both sides come together and focus on making America a better place for all its citizens.
Elon is uniquely positioned to deliver on this with extremely high quality jobs, and industry that cement America's technological lead.
Democrats are uniquely positioned as well, with a mandate by the voting public to focus on massively growing the economy and leave behind all the other stuff that's simply far less important.
There's no better time than now for Elon to build during his prime, and for Dems to empower him to do so for the benefit of ALL Americans.
It's time to move forward as the UNITED States of America, accept our differences, celebrate our collective ability to express those differences, and work together to fulfill America's true potential: a place where hard work and innovation drastically improve the lives of everyone.
Santa Clara County has more people who made their wealth in tech and tech stocks than anywhere else in California. The fact inside trader @RoKhanna made millions as their representative then tried to pass a tax on their assets, rather than focus on ending stock trades for politicians, shows how arrogant and out of touch he is — it’s time to find a serious candidate to replace him.
Sergey Brin's political win in California cannot be understated. Guy double taps wealth taxes by beating back prop 40 and then outlawing them all together.
His political infrastructure now needs to storm the walls of the public sector union industrial complex destroying CA.
We dodged a bullet on this asset seizure tax. With any luck Prop 42 will pass.
Builders of tech in California had a good day yesterday: we want abundance and asset seizure is the one guaranteed way to kill the golden goose.
Huge thanks to Sergey Brin here.
I was reminded that in 1994, Bill Clinton got thumped and ushered in Republican House control for the first time in 40 years. It was shocking but ended up being a giant gift to the country. Gingrich and Clinton balanced the budget, reformed welfare, and the American people loved it. Our economy was booming, and people were financially secure.
There’s a massive opportunity here to lead in a manner that benefits the country. Hopefully, we can get back to that.
Welp… I voted. Hoping everyone in Cali voted with the heads and not their emotions.
I voted for Hilton regardless of party lines. I know it’s a long shot. But, we can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results. Lowering vehicle registration, working to tap into California resources to lower energy costs, improving quality of life, building housing and strong, not tepid support for law enforcement is needed. What do we have to lose here? If he’s trash we can recall him.
Becerra said taxing us for every mile we drive is on the table and thinks Gavin Newsom deserved an A on the homeless crisis. That’s all I needed to hear. I’m done with more taxes. Done with the same old nonsense. Manage what we have.
I voted HELL NO on prop 40. It is not a billionaire’s tax at all. Because once the billionaires pack up and leave when it’s passed, us thousandaires’ are going to get it, and there is nothing you can do to stop them thanks to Prop 50 (the one folks voted emotionally on.) Folks literally let California politicians scare you into giving away the power we fought for in 2023. If 40 passes, they can do whatever they want to us tax-wise.
And YES on 39. If the president, the House and Senate are incapable of securing elections nationwide, we now have a chance to do it for ourselves in Cali. Unless more homeless get paid to give their vote away again. Election integrity should not be a partisan issue or even a question.
These were the most important issues for me.
Steve Kerr is using Steph Curry in a way I've wanted him to use him for a long time, and this is the result - Curry averaging 30ppg in under 30 minutes at age 38, nearing 39.
The motion offense diminished Curry's true abilities for years and gave him the "shooter" label, while forcing him to run so damn much, he developed a runner's knee issue.
These days, we are getting a healthy dose of hunting for mismatches, PnR variations, high screen action, and it's leading to great efficiency.
I assume they've changed the offense to preserve Curry from running around like a shooter with no handles limit the "runner's knee" situation, and we are finally getting the cheat code show we've always deserved.
Better late than never, but Kerr has done unthinkably awful things over the years. I'm just glad we are finally out of that nightmare HS offense that Kerr thought was some kind of good offense in the NBA - it was and is basic and trash.
I almost never post about politics but as a 20 year California resident I need to say: let’s try something different. Your feelings about the occupant of the WH has ZERO to do with our beautiful but f’ed-up state. Personally I’m tired of paying among the highest taxes and prices in the nation and getting such piss poor results. Our cities should be gleaming, our high speed rail should be running (or at least exist), our schools should be producing the cream of society for what we pay. The current leadership has demonstrated its capabilities or lack thereof. There is nowhere to go but up. Vote Hilton if only because the status quo doesn’t deserve more time to make things even worse
🚨 NFL legend Jared Allen is moving BACK to California, voting Hilton.
On Becerra’s mileage tax: “How are you going to punish people for trying to get to work?”
Thank you, Jared! I’ll be fighting to the very end to restore the thriving, affordable California you grew up in. 👊
Oakland's ongoing defunding of OPD police services and its failure to make pubic safety a priority is killing the city. Who wants to party when you're surrounded by mass shootings, homicides, robberies, burglaries and property destruction?
Repeal CEQA, the primary NIMBY tool to prevent building anything
Hospitals, high speed rail, housing, all blocked by an army of lawyers employed by NIMBYs
Stephen A Smith refutes the notion that the Democrats are the best party for Black Americans:
SAS: "Matthew McConaughey didn't bring up the crime bill that Hillary Rodham Clinton husband Bill Clinton pushed mandatory sentences, making crack cocaine more egregious than regular cocaine.
When did that get alleviated? Van Jones worked for the Obama administration. CNN analyst worked for the Obama administration. This was one of his primary causes.
When did the first step to act to essentially offset the effect of the crime bill and get thousands of people let out of jail for nonviolent criminal offenses. When did that take place? That was when Trump was in office.
I'm simply saying, let's look at the clock. It happened when Trump was in office.
I can't tell you how many people that I've run across, and they're talking about how we're living in desperate times. And as a result, you understand you have to take this position. You have to hold people accountable. And always, always, always. They're talking about the Republicans. Nobody brings up how the Democrats need to be held accountable."
First step is admitting you have a problem: The Democrat party.
@jm_ziegler They next. All these text messages and cross conversations fbi is just waiting for the right time. They dont want too many battles at one time i am guessing. That council is corrupt.
Without exaggeration, @ZavalaA got more news out of @XavierBecerra in 10 minutes than the entire CA legacy media did over 5 months. By not pressuring XB to discuss his positions, many of which turn out to be controversial, CA media abdicated their role in our democratic system.
