#illini WBB announced the addition for 6-foot-4 Bosnian center Lana Brenjo. She averaged 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds internationally last year.

A WWII veteran returns to Utah Beach, the Normandy shore where D-Day unfolded. This Memorial Day, we remember the Americans who never came home, the heroes who gave everything so we could be free.
@IlliniMort I see the press box at least twice a day every week day and often wish the same thing. Should be more about the identity of Illinois Athletics overall than one donor
The contract wouldn't be for as long as it is if those involved didn't think that was realistic. Underwood has been very adaptable throughout his tenure at Illinois, so I'm not worried about the game passing him by. He'd be 72 by the end of the 2035-2036 season, which isn't that wild (Lou Henson was 73 when he retired, Rick Pitino is currently 73, Jim Boeheim was 78 when he retired, Mike Krzyzewski was 75 when he retired, Tom Izzo is currently 71, Rick Barnes is currently 71).
While, yes, projecting out 10 years from now (even longer than his current tenure of 9 completed seasons) may not be incredibly accurate. It was more so to demonstrate what he's capable of and the potential legacy this contract means for him.
If Underwood earns his extension through 2036 (for a total of 10 more seasons) while maintaining the rate of success he's had over the last 7 seasons, he'd finish his career at Illinois with approx.:
431 wins (most program history)
255 reg. seas. conf. wins (most program history)
85 ranked wins (33% total program history)
257 wins at SFC (30% total arena history)
234 weeks ranked (35% total program history)
30 NCAA Tournament wins (43% total program history)
Statue worthy.
The elite are in Champaign.
@CoachUnderwood is locked in through 2032 and could extend through 2036 based on team performance over the next four seasons.

@WannaMeetCartii I mean, this is what he has to say in order to continue to get earnest feedback from teams. I wouldn't read too much into him stating he's "both feet in right now" on the draft process
Asked Keaton Wagler how picking #illini impacted his path to the NBA.
"It's definitely the best decision I've made in my basketball career so far. And it's awesome to see how well it worked out."
2026 Illinois basketball non-con schedule includes:
- @ Duke
- @ Texas Tech
- vs UConn (Chicago)
- vs Missouri (St. Louis)
Need a marquee home game now #illini
So much smart stuff in this episode. Ganta is really trying to run Illinois’ operation like an NBA front office, even with limited budget — so he put out a call for math-minded, hoops-loving Illinois students on LinkedIn, conducted interviews and built an analytics staff.
Illinois beat the Wildcats in football, and swept them in both men’s and women’s basketball. A series win (let alone a sweep) this weekend could put the cherry on top of some in-state domination.
This is what I can’t stand about these old school coaches! You’re in a winnable playoff series and you’ve lost your franchise player to injury and a key rotational player as well but you’ve pick now to send a message to your 2nd best athlete on the team? Ok he missed an assignment sit him down a few minutes explain what he did wrong and put him right back on the floor? By benching him in a playoff series you destroy his confidence! He’s still developing give the kid a break! Terrible!!!
