JOHANNESBURG DISTRICT FCS UNIT APPEALS TO THE PUBLIC TO ASSIST IN LOCATING A PERSON OF INTEREST

The Johannesburg District Family Violence, #ChildProtection and Sexual Offences Unit is requesting assistance from members of the public in identifying and locating a person of interest who can assist them with investigations into a rape case that was reported in Dobsonville on 01 September 2026.

It is alleged that the victim was walking along the street to a local shop, when a white Toyota Quantum with three unknown male occupants approached her. One of the men allegedly forced her into the vehicle, after which they drove to an unknown open area where she was allegedly raped.

The person depicted in the attached photograph may have information that can assist the police with the ongoing investigations.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of this person is urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Ntobong, on 067 100 2282, their nearest police station, or the SAPS CrimeStop number on 08600 10111.

Information may also be shared anonymously via the MySAPSApp.

I’ve heard that Kempton Park Police Station is very corrupt and unsafe, Midrand Police Station is no better. Few weeks ago, I witnessed a police officer certifying a stolen ID book for a foreign national. The officer noticed that the ID was stolen and started questioning the man. He then asked him what he would get in return for certifying it.

The man also had tender documents with him, and the two of them went outside together. The man realised that I had witnessed everything, and if looks could kill, I would be dead. The way he looked at me terrified me. I was shaking and kept checking my surroundings as I left the police station. 😭

Do you know what this could mean? It could mean that a South African’s stolen identity is being used to register a company and obtain tenders. One day, the real owner of that ID could find themselves in serious trouble for things they know absolutely nothing about.
