One of the only existing groves of American Chestnut trees is scheduled to be destroyed next month to make room for a datacenter. I made an entire video about what this tree meant and the efforts to bring it back that have lasted decades. Consumption knows nothing of sacrament.

@callmeed I work at a hotel and yes. When guests don’t let us know they have left, we have to wait for check out time. If you left at 10:45 that’s not a big deal. But if you left at 6AM that’s 5 hours where we could have been cleaning and preparing the room for the next guest.

@Uwhmds2 @Zaoist4 It’s an alarmist propaganda piece about climate change dressed up to feel like a Wes Anderson movie but it lacks any deeper meaning, is very on the nose and superficial. Meaningless B plots that go nowhere. The A plot is overshadowed by it itself being a play within the film.

@honestpollster A “free market” is free from coercion, not regulation. But coercion can come from both government and private entities. Right now by far the most coercive force in our markets is the government.
