Students require time and and consideration when building learning skills. Educators do, too. We don’t all just know because we’re adults. Instead of assuming, be supportive. We all need to feel safe asking for help to develop and grow our skill sets. #CelebrateMonday#learning
Who needs help with hybrid teaching and learning?

Marks are much too shallow a goal for us to direct students toward. When we direct them toward the growth, character, skills & habits which are available to them in each task, we increase relevance of instruction & promote academic achievement...all while promoting wellness.

Teacher... "Does your brain know the difference between determination in the classroom and determination at the hockey rink?" Student.... "No?" Teacher...."Correct! So let's use this Math lesson as an opportunity to make you a better hockey player!" #AHAmoments
My students were asked, "What do you want our class to feel like?" They said encouraging & free to make mistakes. Too often this desire to encourage & be encouraged is trumped by worry of what others will think. As educator I must intentionally model & celebrate encouragement.
Big moment for our students today... We learned the test for knowing, without a doubt, when one of their peers could use encouragement....It's if they're breathing! @JohnCMaxwell@YRDSB
Our @RickHansenPS class is creating a healthy foundation for our year based on caring for each other. When students are encouraged by each other to take chances, share ideas & make mistakes, they can focus on learning rather than worry. @YRDSB@TheMentoree@DrHenryCloud
I@JonathanWCarr1 on @TheMentoree talking about teaching online by focusing on "doing what I do well; and that's caring for students" regardless of new challenges #OnEdMentors
This word cloud was created from the input of students through their teachers adding 3 words per class across the EVS (Elementary Virtual School) that resulted in a beautiful artifact of this unprecedented time. #OnEdMentors@YRDSB
