Last night, Dusty May completed his two year revitalization of Michigan basketball. On the architecture of the program May has built in such a short time, my last story for @umhoops:

@UConnMBB wants to play slow. @umichbball doesn’t. Ahead of Monday’s National Championship, talked to Michigan about what it can do to speed up the Huskies.
On pace, transition and why everyone kept bringing up the Iowa Hawkeyes, for @umhoops:

From an early-season workout to Final Four TikTok lives, Yaxel Lendeborg, Roddy Gayle Jr. and Trey McKenney’s relationship has grown throughout the season into an on and off-the-court bond that has fueled Michigan’s championship run.

Following the disastrous 8-24 season, Michigan sought change and brought in Dusty May. Tarris Reed Jr. did the same and transferred to UConn.
Both moves paid dividends. Now, each play foil to one another in the national championship. For @umhoops:

With bigs in foul trouble and Lendeborg hurting, and in FAU-esque fashion, Dusty May deployed a four-guard lineup for a critical stretch against Arizona.
My story for @umhoops on that moment and how Cadeau, McKenney and Michigan’s backcourt delivered:

When Yaxel Lendeborg visited Michigan, before withdrawing from the NBA Draft, Roddy Gayle Jr. hosted him. Gayle didn’t even expect Lendeborg to come to Michigan then.
Now, the two close friends are in the Final Four. My story for @umhoops:

#SportsMonday Column | “May has constructed and developed a team that is more in control of its own fate going into the Final Four than any previous Michigan team.”

Two years ago, Michigan suffered the worst season in program history with a record 24 losses. Three players from that team are still with the Wolverines for the Final Four this season.

Built on trust and connection, @umichbball coach Mike Boynton Jr.’s impact goes far beyond the court.

Unsurprisingly, Yaxel Lendeborg was involved in just about every aspect of Michigan’s Sweet Sixteen win over Alabama.

For Dakoda Rhéaume-Mullen, hockey is in his DNA. Now with @umichhockey , he is authoring a new chapter in his family’s story.

For Indiana Langford, there was no choice but to be competitive. Growing up in a house filled with sibling rivalry has driven Langford to @umichsoftball and fueled her need to win.
