I don't want to crap on this without seeing it but I'm going to say...
Modern comedies rely too heavily on concept. Concept-heavy comedies *can* be funny but the jokes have to live outside the concept.
Friends was just a group of people living in New York. That was the concept.
Seinfeld was, notoriously, concept-free.
Arrested Development was "Rich family loses everything". Simple easy concept with lots of room for humor to grow and exist outside of the concept.
Most new comedies are very reliant on concept and setting to drive the humor which *can* work but the writing needs to give room for genuine laughs that go beyond "here's the gag!".
M*A*S*H is a masterful example of a concept-driven sitcom that used its setting as an easy vehicle for its writing.
Ted Lasso bored the heck out of me because after I got used to the initial concept the jokes just didn't land.
“The needle drops in STREET FIGHTER were AWFUL” If Ryu fighting Akuma to White Zombie didn’t move you at least a little bit I question what you want out of the movies.
'OTHER MOMMY’ will feature a jump scare every 2 minutes, according to director Rob Savage.
He revealed the film contains around 50 jump scares throughout the 80 minute runtime.
In theaters tomorrow.
Am I wrong for declining an office manager position paying $18/hr because they also expect me to clean the office every week? Like mopping, sweeping, trash, cleaning the bathroom, etc. I know I need the money, but cleaning being part of the job is really throwing me off

I like Spider-Man and Wolverine, so seeing them being Surf Dracula'd and flanderized by Insomniac is sad, but I don't think I'm enough of a fan to get angry about it, if Insomniac ever touches Hulk though, I'm going to be on the news.
