For one reason or another it's been a while, but the #Modelmakersgarden is back. A busy few hours sorting out cucumbers, garlic, lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries and potatoes.

This incredibly detailed 1938 model is of Giles Gilbert Scott's design of the plinth for William Reid Dick's sculpture of King George V in Westminster. The ornate canopy was never built after being criticised for drawing attention away from the statue itself.
This stunning 1927 working model of the old London Bridge waterwheel still operates. Built by John Thorp as part of his Old London series of models, it used to be coin operated.
We are delighted to announce that Thorp Modelmakers have now entrusted 7 models made by John Thorp himself into our care as part of the Thorp Archive here at @inspiredAUB. Dating between 1915 and 1938 these stunning artefacts are incredibly valuable pieces of modelmaking history.

Wood burner is in & throws out more than enough heat for the whole house, the solar panels make over 50% of my electricity. Next step house battery, save the solar when I'm at work use it in the evening. With a few more bits & pieces, off grid or almost off grid looks possible.
