December 2024: a federal grand jury in Puerto Rico indicts 34 people in a prison contraband conspiracy. The government's own press release lists drones as the delivery method, first, ahead of mail, visits, and throws over the fence.

Here is the detail that stays with me. The only publicly reported drone interception at a Puerto Rico correctional facility happened in 2022, and it came from a human tip and a foot chase through the woods. Not from a sensor. Nothing was watching the sky then.Nothing is watching it now.

Collection comes first. It always has.
