I am absolutely no Lena Miculek. Here’s what I do know, you need to practice.

Dry firing is an excellent training tool. Are you doing it seated. Are you trying different methods to see what is the fastest for you to clear a holster? Are you developing muscle memory and building patterns? Are you working it properly, slower and then building speed? Are you practicing with any and all ways you actually use to carry?

Here’s another thing I’ve experienced over the years, sometimes “fixing” an experienced shooter isn’t the correct thing to do. My Warrant Officer, who could drill dimes at 15m always anticipated his shot. It was revealed one day while we were doing ball & dummy drills. His barrel dipped every time he was given a pistol with an empty chamber. He corrected it & his shot group opened up. I looked at him & said, “Chief, whatever you were doing before, just do that.”

None of the videos are “full speed”, but feel free to practice as slow as you need. Build that “muscle memory.” Get to the point you draw fast and aim precisely if your goal is self-defense.

That can be quick too, but the last thing you want is to hit bystanders in a restaurant if you’re trying to defend them, then you accidentally became a mass shooter yourself.

Be safe, start dry, work your way up. You’ll find on occasion when you transition to live & speed it up, you don’t form the perfect grip, learn to live with acceptable. In real life, you don’t get to re-holster & try again.

First video - the 3 movement trap-the-shirt method & 1 handed rake to clear the pistol. Depending on clothing, figure out what is effective for you. There are probably ways I don’t know. I have no advice for a dress, consult an expert.
There are people much better at this than I. If you carry in a purse, satchel, or fanny pack, you absolutely need to work through it.

Second clip, seated draw from 3 o’clock. 1 handed rake the t shirt.

Third clip, seated draw from appendix carry. 3 step clear-the-shirt.

You can tell me I’m wrong or that you do it better, but are you practicing it dry & live? I hope so.

I know some of you saw my comment on Garand Thumb's post, and I thought it worth sharing.

The defeatist attitude is a problem, and there is a solution for it within our own history.

If you want to know why the Crusades were waged, you need only look 1,000 years prior to the Apostle Paul's journey across Asia and Macedonia in preaching the gospel.

The message of Christ spread westward like wildfire, and was ultimately the basis for Christendoms formation centuries later.

The people in those regions accepted the gospel of Christ and over the next few generations the Word of God reshaped their culture and society entirely.

This is a wildly oversimplified concept that spans across empires and time, but the foundational principle remains true as ever.

The inevitable outcome of a Father who possess a zeal for the Lord is the conversion of his entire family.

The result of many families like his, adhering to the ideals of the Holy Bible, is a whole society that reflects that same reverence for the Word.

The result of a society filled with a righteous passion to uphold God's Holy Law and to glorify Him, is a governance structure that will reflect exactly that.

Which is why almost 1,000 years after the Gospel was preached to the Western World, Godfrey of Bouillon led his Crusaders across 2,700 miles of impossibly difficult terrain to fight a far superior force on their own home territory.

If you want to defeat the enemy and establish peace that lasts for centuries as Godfrey did, you have to understand that the battle doesn't start with the first swing of a Christian sword.
