Our Rothwell Fire Station is one that has on-call firefighters. This this means that they are paid to be firefighters around their normal day-to-day commitments and jobs. If you're interested in joining, please see https://t.co/HNA7Nye4yj

[Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue @northantsfire]

This week our crew from Rothwell joined @LeicsFireRescue Kibworth Station for a cross-border joint training exercise. They were testing Breathing Apparatus equipment and procedures and working with colleagues across both services. Thanks to Stuart Court for hosting us.

QUESTION

I’ve seen a post today about crewing and making available an appliance with 3, I don’t want anyone name calling, making awful comments as this isn’t what the post is for.

What I want to know is what is your view:

A) Better to have 3 there sooner than wait an additional 5-10 mins for a fully staffed appliance.

B) Unsafe, puts the crew in a moral dilemma they shouldn’t be in which could also impact mental health, and knowingly puts crews in a situation with no way of safe working practices, or control measures.

C) Undecided

D) See Results

I know my view, and I’ll give it once the poll is closed so not to influence the poll.

Residents are still being asked to keep their windows and doors closed if they are nearby to the fire we are currently attending at the Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby.

[Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue @northantsfire]

PLS RT: Firefighters are dealing with a blaze at the derelict former Gala Bingo Hall in High Street #Kettering - 4 crews from Kettering, Corby & Wellingborough are on site following a call at 6.10pm. Residents nearby are asked to close windows and not approach scene. Thank you.
