I met my Spanish Bazzukulu this evening at State House Entebbe after the completion of their fourth annual volunteer mission in Uganda. For the last four years, they have supported vulnerable communities in Gomba District by constructing school facilities, improving access to clean water and undertaking other outreach activities. I thanked them for their spirit of service, shared with them Uganda’s journey from subsistence to the money economy, and encouraged them to live disciplined, purposeful lives.

.@ugwildlife is undertaking the translocation of critically endangered Nubian Giraffes from Murchison Falls National Park to Ajai Wildlife Reserve in a move aimed at expanding the species and establishing a new population in Ajai.

The exercise commenced on Tuesday and is expected to run through the week, with a total of 12 giraffes expected to be relocated.
