We have all been told that local foods are the best. What people are unaware of, is the middle man: factors that exist in order to obtain them. Energy-consuming variables need to be taken into account to see if local foods are truely beneficial. #sustainable_engineering

Our generation along with future generations should try and capitalize on the evident opportunities that exist today. If not, there may come a time when these opportunities are no longer available. #sustainable_engineering

While geoengineering seems ethical, how will it impact the public in the future? Dispensing sulfates or other chemicals high in the atmosphere to reflect sunlight could pose potential health risks due to the increase in their chemical concentrations. #sustainable_engineering

Approaching problems with a systems view allows the present to advance in the world without compromising future generations to come. We must try to understand that our actions are all interdependent which impact not only the present but also the future. #sustainable_engineering
