This quote you gave to CBC last night shows you really don’t understand addiction. You told the reporter that after my first overdose the government “should have actually stepped in and put him into mandatory treatment and recovery so he didn't overdose five more times.”

I didn’t need forced treatment John. I WENT INTO TREATMENT VOLUNTARILY DOZENS OF TIMES‼️

Man, the number of people with a platform and/or actual decision-making power who think a person will go into treatment one single time and magically BE CURED OF THEIR ADDICTION … is astounding 🤯

Addiction is a chronic relapsing disease. Very few people will be cured after one stint in treatment, and the rate of success is much, much lower when it’s forced. When people relapse, as I did many times, they’re more likely to overdose because today’s illicit drug supply is so potent and unpredictable, and because their tolerance to those drugs has been lowered while they were abstinent.

Your ideas are not based on evidence, and they don’t even make sense. YOUR CAMPAIGN PROMISES ARE GOING TO CAUSE IRREPARABLE HARM. 💔
