I HAVE LOVED ALL OF BTS WITH MY EVERYTHING BECAUSE I MADE SURE UNDERSTOOD WHAT IT MEANT TO STAN THEM. I UNDERSTOOD THEM. AND BTS AND MY MORALES ARE ALIGNED SO I KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE ONLY SHEEPS HATE BTS, CUZ ONLY SHEEPS ARE SOLOS!
SKZ is an 8 years old group. When BTS were an 8 years old group, they had Butter which debuted with 20M streams on Spotify and 108M views on YouTube.
SKZ haven’t improved at all, they’ve been stuck in the same range of numbers for a while now.
Some artists are marketed as "next BTS" or even bigger, but when it comes to taking a stand like BTS, the comparison disappears.
Being global isn’t just western promo & award goals. Its also having the backbone to defend ur art when the system tries to shrink it. #ArtHasNoAliens
FROM CRTICS, ACADEMY WINNERS TO EVERYDAY FANS SHOWING GENUINE ISSUES REGRADING @RecordingAcad PROBLEMS , SNUBS & INSTITUTIONAL RACISM, IMP FACT IS THAT MUSIC SHOULD NEVER BE LIMITED TO GEOGRAPHY OR SEGREGATED IN TERMS OF CATEGORIES RATHER SHOULD BE ACCEPTED AND CELEBRATED IN ITS PUREST FORM

they tried to demonise this sweet genuine moment, spread lies saying that jk felt uncomfortable after everybody heard that tae had missed his kissing instead of teasing. but literally after this moment we’ve been seeing them Glued to each other every day.
“For artistes with massive worldwide audiences, institutional validation may no longer carry the same weight it once did. By walking away from the Grammys at a moment when they were among the strongest contenders, BTS showed that cultural influence sometimes comes not from accepting recognition, but from refusing it.”

If @RecordingAcad needs separate labels to understand asian excellence, maybe they are not the standard of music anymore. Maybe they are just an old institution struggling to keep up with the world BTS already changed.

Nikkei Asia described BTS’ statement as:
“A polite but definite no to the world's most prestigious music awards.”
“By boycotting the Grammys, the world's biggest boy band is doing more than refusing an awards ceremony -- they are challenging the industry's power to categorize them. They're stating how they want to be seen: not as artists confined to a regional label.”
(Nikkei Asia is Japan’s English language financial newspaper owned by Nikkei Inc.)
“Lots of people don’t go to Cannes now. The same thing is happening at the Venice Film Festival. Already you can see that lots of Hollywood studios have pulled back from that and not putting their stuff out there. It used to be the start of an awards run to start it at Cannes.
The moment people start opting out of these big cultural juggernauts, then the cultural juggernaut is in trouble. For the Grammys, this was a really stupid thing to do. I don’t blame them for boycotting at all - for being ghettoised in that category - not at all.”
- How BTS became timeless:
“BTS an internationally known pop & hip-hop band, has used their platform to make & promote music surrounding a multitude of meaningful messages. These messages include self-love, fleeting moments of youth and nostalgia, explorations++
- “If Music Truly is Universal, Then Language Shouldn't become a qualifier for prestige”
- “The Grammys 2027 best Asian pop music catagory is just Another form of Segregation”

"Almost in order to contain global artists & also to maintain American artists & the U.S. as the center."
Calling everyone else "regional" while American/European music remains the default isn't global inclusion. It's preserving the center.
