@_Mike__Kelly A5: Practice growing and being uncomfortable/vulnerable is important. The more practice we have the easier that discomfort with feel, and the more likely we are to try to grow and change in the future. #csp525#CultureEd
@_Mike__Kelly A4: Change is uncomfortable, and being uncomfortable is hard. It’s like growing pains, but the long-term growth is worth the immediate discomfort, especially if it means being a better teacher for our students. #cap525#CultureEd
@chrisgibsonedu Not all students have the skills to show what they know in the form of a test, and tests are generally one data point from one moment in time that may not reflect the student or what they know and have learned. #csp525#PBLChat
@chrisgibsonedu A3: I would say having students turn in their work, share answers or work with me or the class, or even having students share out their project and what they learned #csp525#PBLChat
@chrisgibsonedu Some assessment tools I use are think-pair-shares, informal assessments such as walking around during center work, or pulling small groups to determine where students are at, and formal assessments where I work individually with students to gather data #csp525#PBLchat
@_Mike__Kelly A2: Students who trust us, and know what to expect from us, their relationship with us, the expectations and routines in the class, are better able to learn in their environment. #csp525#CultureEd
@mrsmonosmith A7: I would say Google slides is a personal favorite, as well as seesaw. Any program that allow for student engagement and interaction! #csp525
@mrsmonosmith Q6: At this point I would have to agree with Carrie Rice, I wouldn’t throw any of it away, but my work laptop or smart board could go if I could get an improved version that is quicker moving and better functioning! #csp525
@mrsmonosmith A5: I think while technology can provide more equity, it can also cause inequity if used incorrectly or for students who don’t have access outside of the classroom, especially if supports aren’t in place to ensure student success. #csp525
@mrsmonosmith A4: Students don’t use much technology specifically in my learning groups but when I introduced new tools during distance learning I would share my screen and do a step by step instruction and then have students try it out on their own and check in at the next meeting! #csp525
@mrsmonosmith A3: I would say my ipevo board often feels like it isn’t enhancing my learning environment- because it doesn’t let you move through Google slides without being at your computer which makes presenting or interacting with presentations/ tools difficult #csp525
