I wrote this to help put the malaise of the pandemic in perspective. I'd recommend this for anyone who has experienced a constant, dulled feeling of dread during COVID.

@bruceanderson lol what advantages?
Wages? Housing prices? Health care? Job opportunities? Climate? Education?
All gone to shit. I'm a top 5% earner, own multiple properties, and I'm looking to leave. No reason for me to be here.
@ashebytes I just came from exhibiting at a fairly large one (26,000 attendees), and a shocking number of attendees spent the bulk of their time just waiting in line...whether it was for swag, prizes, or food.
I can't imagine a worse way to spend 3 days. Especially if work is paying.
Anyone who thinks the dogshit meme videos in this sponsored content thread look good needs to delete their account.
Fuck these stupid AI stans. We donβt need this. Itβs not cool. Stop working on these stupid βAIβ applications. Itβs another tech bubble Ponzi scheme.
@JamiesonRoberts You either live in high density and put up with the downsides (proximity to other people, traffic, etc.) or move out of the city into low density and deal with that π€·ββοΈ
Also you are massively overestimating how harmful second hand smoke is from another person's apartment balcony.
@NeedlesOnNews I love her comment about how the pressure has never been greater on domestic media in her 40 years in the biz.
That's like the CEO of Blockbuster saying that there's never been greater pressure on video rentals.
It's an empty statement.
Look at this guy.
Heβs a millionaire who went homeless as a social experiment.
His goal? Prove that anyone can make $1M in 12 months with just a phone.
The story of Mike Black and what happened next:
Why do all of these hustle bro losers show themselves talking on their cell phones like they're some big shot business guy closing deals?
The people closing big deals are doing it in-person on site selling heavy equipment or w/e or on a Zoom call selling software.
Incomes of bachelor's graduates three years out from graduation, by province, in constant $2023 (please don't ask if I'm accounting for inflation). Only QC has seen an increase, but the big downward forces are in Newfoundland & the Prairies, and it's due to commodity prices.
@WrayAJ 30 year term.
5% interest
Assumed 800k purchase price (new build)
Payments: $3,435/month
$206,100 in payments in 5 years
$52,297 in principal paid off
$153,803 of interest.
Homes for people indeed.
@NeedlesOnNews And it's become clear that it was a terrible decision. As streaming services + YouTube have destroyed cable TV, the CBC has done...what, exactly?
@NeedlesOnNews And that's generally the trend at any failing institution. Look at who's leading. The institution as a whole shouldn't have to suffer for the incompetence of the few. It's truly bizarre why she was appointed. Her resume is not that impressive.
