Congratulations to Jordan Fink, Molly Winters & Elizabeth O'Connor of Lowell Elementary School for winning a 2023 grant for their project "Revitalized Guided Reading Library" #WEFGrantsWork
Roe v. Wade was decided on my 29th birthday- now I am 78 and they overturned it and rolled back 50 years of progress. But they just awakened a new generation of women and this grandma can't wait to help them change the world once and for all.
“Interest Day” (dress like what you want to be when you grow up) is officially my new favorite dress up theme. We had everything from doctors to super hero’s to explorers…a cheer squad, a little crew of teachers, a GIRL BOSS ❤️ and even a grandma! 😂 #teamlowell
I got so much joy out of listening in on these partner writing conferences today. They used their checklists to give meaningful feedback and suggestions. WOW have they grown! #teamlowell#strongertogether
Huge thanks to our kinder friends for letting us share our published teaching books with you! And look at that impressive shared writing thank you note!! ❤️✏️ @SofiGV8@mollywinters30#teamlowell#WritingCommunity
Such a fun morning at the @waukeshalibrary 📚 These readers were so excited about their books they didn’t even make it back to school before they started reading!! (also the bus is basically as exciting as a roller coaster! ❤️😂)
Highlights from this week: 📸 1 + 2 - daily reading challenge was 2 minutes to create the comfiest reading spot possible 😂 📸 3 - readers setting and discussing their goals! 📸 4 - loved being read to during drop everything and read! #readingcommunity#readingforFUN
So thankful for our amazing school psych and all of the ideas I get to borrow from her! Excited to start this mental health check in with one of my learners tomorrow. #SEL#Journaling
Today we used our “huh?” notes to make our confusion visible. Loved hearing these readers explain how they used rereading to repair their understanding! #metacognition
At the end of my first semester in my teacher education program, my final assignment was to write a letter to myself to read 5 years later. Today I read that letter, and this was my final paragraph. Might have to put reading this on the docket every December.
