Two Men Jailed For Union Jack Attack In Leeds
Two men have been jailed for their part in an affray which erupted after a group of men dressed in Union Jacks were attacked in #Leeds.
Sameer Ali, 21, and Adnan Ghafoor, 31, were sentenced at Leeds Crown Court today for their involvement in the violence which occurred on Great George Street last Saturday.
The court heard that the incident began with verbal exchanges between the two groups before escalating into violence. Ali was seen kicking and punching one of the men, while Ghafoor joined in by punching another individual.
Both men pleaded guilty to affray and handed themselves into police two days after the incident. One of the victims suffered two broken teeth.
Ali was sentenced to 20 months in prison, while Ghafoor received an 18-month jail term. He will also serve a consecutive 12-month sentence for breaching a suspended sentence for dangerous driving. https://t.co/zwUgigCNYr
