Different times indeed!
“The Council requests the immediate removal of the gratuitously insulting notice-board wherein UCD - a Constituent College of the NATIONAL University of Ireland - is referred to as the General Head-Quarters of a Commandant of the English Military Forces.”
Four months after Armistice the Students' Representative Council UCD issued a resolution to Academic Council 'the students should be still insulted by being lectured in their own National University by Professors in the uniform of their oppressors.' @ucdarchives #mulcahypapers
@SineadBrennan1 @ucdarchives Hi Sinéad, the intelligence report states Sligo as for the surname I couldn't say for certain. The copied letter is marked 'J. Quinn, A wing' but this is possibly a false name.

Love the 'Year 7 of the Irish Republic '.
Saw similar dating on Tin Town autograph books. Shows how deeply held the Irish Republic was as a living thing.

Anti-Treaty IRA vs Pro-Treaty IRA
@ucdarchives
Cumann na mBan played a leading role in producing and disseminating anti-Treaty propaganda. Here C na mB president Countess Markievicz, a propaganda cartoonist, depicts the free-state forces at work.
