@Life_Disrupted @BBCr4today It's totally conceivable that you have already given data to Serco, or authorized them to use it. Not using the NHS Contact Tracing app which may help to end the lockdown and save lives on this principal is shaky ground imo.

My point is while it is important to safeguard your data - singling out a single services organization is going to be very difficult to enforce as you rarely know who is processing that data.

@johnmac201 @BBCr4today @uklabourdigital @darrenpjones It's absolutely possible to determine an approximate distance based on signal strength. There is an algorithm developed to weed out low signal matches. It wont eliminate false positives but can certainly reduce them.
