Beyond the disrespect to survivors hiring Acevedo represents & the fact that he’s a legal liability (his failed leadership has cost Austin and Houston taxpayers millions), it’s also perplexing that Watson/Garza think HE’S the guy to patch things up with the police union.

It's nuts how long it's taken to shed the toxic habits/views I had during my school days, I keep finding new ways I used to act like a crazy person. like, the realization that my students aren't lazy, they just don't come to class when they feel bad like I used to is surreal

BREAKING: Via 313 has fired Leah Meltzer, the president of RWU. This is the latest offense in a long pattern of outrageous illegal retaliation. We’re holding a sip-in at Via tonight to demand what we always have: an end to Via’s unionbusting and a living wage for all Via workers
This is another year of "I'm going to radically revise what my day to day work looks like". Feelsy word vomit thread incoming abandon hope all ye who enter here 1/???
To cut off this ramble before I lose the ability to stop, cauterizing my tendency to fill space with work was just step one. I really thought step two would come naturally without the work pressure; it's going to have to be a lot more purposeful than that. 6/fin
