God over everything

I heard someone say, satan got adam and eve to fix their eyes on one tree when god had already given them an entire garden, think about that. The enemy didn't have to convince them that they had nothing. He just had to make them forget everything that they already had. And he still, till this day, uses the same strategy. He gets us to focus on relationships we don't have, the job that we don't have, the opportunity we don't have, the healing we haven't seen yet. Meanwhile, we are blind to the countless prayers god has already answered. Gratitude isn't pretending you don't want more, it's refusing to let what you don't have make you forget the goodness of god that's already surrounding you.

Kierkegaard said this 200 years ago as follows - whatever you choose, you'll regret it, because the problem isn't in your choices, it's in romanticizing your life. A person always finds an untravelled path alluring and mysterious. That's why the issue isn't making the right choice. It's choosing and deciding which regret you'll live with. In life, we must choose our regret.

a rat fell into a container of rice. the exit was wide open above him and within reach but he had everything he needed so he never jumped.

days passed, the rice slowly disappeared and as it did, he sank deeper. by the time it was all gone, the exit was too far away. he was fat and had no strength left to reach it. he didn't die from hunger. he died from never leaving. psychologists call this the comfort zone paralysis.

you have a salary but no growth. a relationship but no happiness. friendships but no purpose. everything feels safe but you are slowly sinking. the exit is still open. don't wait until the rice runs out.
