@OS2NOX This was the one of the few races I wasn’t critical of her on. I wish she weighed in on Kat, but she’s no dummy.
Platner would be too risky to attach her name too, unlike Abdul.
She’s establishing herself as a good judge of character.
A player is a lot like a stock and is much more so in this new era of analytic basketball. Player value can be artificially inflated or deflated. Teams will lowball value if they see you as desperate.
Jaylen Brown is currently being artificially deflated as a result of the CBA.
@Savageboston@ryenarussillo@wakeupbarstool I think Tatum is just as surprised as Brown if we’re to believe Jeff Teague. Which means he was probably kept in the dark which lines up with the way Jaylen Brown described how this all went down.
This seems like a decision from the top Brad was forced to execute.
@NBA__Courtside If even Tatum finds the trade weird then this has to be related to ownership imo.
Tatum being quietly frustrated isn’t surprising, he’s not the type of dude to make things public but if Tatum is being honest with Teague this actually made me more worried.
@MarzTalksSports This years team is definitely better than last years team, especially with the addition of Mitch. That being said I actually think they got worse relative to their competition.
Last years team had the benefit of teams tanking and players being unhealthy.
@BiggLynch They’ll be worse relative to competition. Other teams have not only significantly upgraded, but last years teams were actively tanking and many were injured. Teams can’t tank anymore and folks are healthy.
There’s a reason even when Tatum returned we lost.
@MKBHD For the same reason we have games that are broken at launch with paywalls for parts of the game that in previous generations were free.
We accepted it, rarely questioned it, and when people did question it those questions were shot down by a games media compromised by access.
The Trail Blazers’ analytics department reportedly viewed Jaylen Brown as a negative player 😳, per @TheAthletic
“Another team with widely reported interest, the Trail Blazers, similarly did not join the chase. A Blazers team source said the Blazers were never enamored with Brown, even before Boston made it known he was available on the trade market. Two factors went into the Blazers’ disinterest: Their analytics viewed him as a negative player and the Celtics’ asking price was too high.”
