Julie Gichuru and her husband Tony “Flash” Gichuru operate one of the most sophisticated state propaganda networks ever seen in Kenya.
Tony channels funds to commercial activists and bloggers to advance William Ruto’s agenda, while Julie trains TikTokers and journalists in the use of manipulative pitch and tone variation designed to influence emotions and provoke a sense of revolutionary catharsis in their audiences.
The distinctive, near-shouting delivery employed by Yvonne Okwara and TikToker Zulekha Godana is a direct product of Julie’s training.
Tony is the son of Samuel Gichuru, the former Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) CEO who authorized a series of illegal and highly extortionate agreements with Independent Power Producers.
Those contracts continue to drive up electricity costs, deter investors, and make daily life more expensive for Kenyans. The fuel-adjustment levy and foreign-exchange charges embedded in every bill or token purchase exist largely to sustain these agreements.
To manufacture demand for diesel-generated power, Samuel Gichuru and Nicholas Biwott drained the Seven Forks dams and then used a compliant mainstream media to amplify reports of declining water levels. This engineered crisis triggered emergency legislation pushed through by bribed members of parliament.
Tony has inherited and continues to benefit from that legacy of corruption and primitive accumulation. In Nairobi circles he is often regarded as “old money,” wealth originally extracted through the suffering and deaths of ordinary Kenyans.
He now serves as an operative for the Ruto administration, maintaining key bloggers on his payroll. Each month he meets them at Cedars Hotel in Nairobi to distribute payments funneled through Kipchumba Murkomen.
This predatory couple has been embedded in the system for years. Just as Samuel Gichuru worked with Daniel arap Moi to loot the country to collapse, the son now works with William Ruto, completing a generational heist.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.
2021 whe fuel prices hit 148bob, Murkomen, Langat, Kindiki and Co were loud asking Uhuru Kenyatta to take responsibility. Today, fuel is at 244bob & they're so quiet. Wajinga ni sisi.
KTN has exposed what may be one of the biggest state-enabled land grabs Kenyans have ever witnessed.
9,000 acres.
Gone.
And the names appearing in this scandal?
Felix Koskei.
The Ruto government.
And a shadowy company owned by a man named Sukhwinder, linked to fake documents, ghost creditors, and mysterious court manoeuvres.
Kenyans need to understand what is happening here.
Miwani Sugar collapsed years ago.
The government reportedly bought the land using public money for over 300m.
Then, suddenly, a private company owned by Sukhwinder emerged, claiming they had bought the same land for KSh 700 million in 2010. The case went to court.
But courts reportedly found the documents by Sukhwinders' company were fake and forged.
Government officials allegedly confirmed no payment was ever made.
Cases were filed against him and others.
That alone should have ended the story.
But no.
After Felix Koskei entered government around 2017, the cases reportedly started disappearing. By 2019, they had been dropped.
Then a mysterious man in India called “Nagenda Saxena” suddenly appeared, claiming Miwani owed him money over 400,000 dollars.
DCI reportedly investigated and found something unbelievable:
“Nagenda Saxena” allegedly did not even exist.
Not a real person.
Yet somehow, Sukhwinder's company now claimed they had paid the 700 million ksh to Nagenda in India.
And now, recently, Felix Koskei allegedly raised this case in the Cabinet, and the Cabinet then resolved to give Sukhwinders' company the land despite an active court case. This was done under the guise of Privatization that you have seen Ruto and UDA champion a lot. Saying it was an out-of-court settlement, yet it's obvious Sukhwinder's company didn't pay.
Think about that carefully.
Courts are still handling a dispute.
Investigations are raising red flags.
DCI is reportedly questioning the legitimacy of the claims.
But the Cabinet allegedly says:
Give them the land anyway.
9,000 acres.
Just like that.
This is Land grabbing.
Whenever this government pushes something with unusual force, ask yourself one question:
Who is about to benefit?
🇰🇪 EXPOSED: France got humiliatingly kicked out of the Sahel for decades of neo-colonial plunder, military bases, and resource extraction.
Now Macron is in Nairobi, smiling with Ruto at State House as they secretly sign 11 new “instruments” between Kenya and France.
No public details. No debate in Parliament. No explanation to suffering Kenyans paying killer taxes.
This isn’t “partnership.”
This is Françafrique 2.0 — hunting for new hosts after West Africa said “enough.”
Kenya is NOT for sale, Africa is NOT for sale.
What exactly did Ruto sign away? Our sovereignty? Our resources? Our future?
Kenyans deserve full transparency NOW.
The Standard expose on how looting is happening at KQ, has reminded me of another expose done by Senator @OkiyaOmtatah mid last year.
In January 2025, Ksh 19.6B was illegally withdrawn from the Consolidated Fund under the vote 'State Officers salaries and allowances' ( see the clip below).
When Okiya wrote to treasury, John Mbadi said that the money was paid to some banks on behalf of KQ.
The year before, KQ had made a profit that was enough to pay those loans without touching taxpayers money.
Surprisingly, the standard has revealed what I have been talking about all along.
Crooks in government, are looting parastatals, to say that they are loss making so that the parastatals are sold to them.
A similar scenario with Kenya Pipeline Company.
This is why we must stop the Privatization of public assets and go after looted funds to the last coin.
Our problem as a country is looting.

I’m watching NTV News, and honestly, my fellow Kenyans, this should disturb us.
Over 800,000 students, including a student by the name Mueni from Makueni, have failed to join Grade 10.
Let that sink in. The CS & PS are silent. They know they will take their children abroad to study.
That number is too big to ignore.
These are not careless parents nor lazy students.
These are children from poor families who were simply left behind.
Someone in Kitui is being told to send a child to school in Marakwet.
With what money? With what support? Yet the parent is poor.
Somewhere, very serious decisions were made without thinking about ordinary Kenyans. And that is not right.
We pay taxes. Education should not push children out of school. Education should be free.
No responsible government watches 800,000 children fall through the cracks and drop out and stays silent.
This is why we must speak up. Because this matters.
