The 2015 George Lucas quote is the one that matters most: "The saga is about the father, the children, and the grandchildren, that's even in the novels and everything."

That single line gives the entire EU generational framework his direct blessing. Lucas didn't erase the EU over the years. He made minor consistency requests between comics and films, chose not to officially pair Maul with Talon, and explicitly talked about moving his "treasure trove" of stories through Kathleen Kennedy to make great movies.

These aren't the actions of a man who hated or rejected the EU. These are the actions of someone who saw it as part of his saga and wanted it handled with care. The EU delivered exactly the multi-generational story he described. Disney canon did not.

That one quote from Lucas himself outweighs every selective snippet thrown around. He was positive toward the EU. The record shows it.
