A New York Times visual investigation says the U.S. likely dropped a 2,000-pound Mark-84 bomb on a family home in Qeshm City, Iran, killing three civilians—a husband, wife, and their 2-year-old son—while two other children survived.

Based on videos, satellite imagery, crater size, and bomb fragments, weapons experts concluded the strike was consistent with a U.S. JDAM-guided Mark-84 bomb. The Times found no evidence of a nearby military target.

U.S. Central Command said it was reviewing reports of civilian casualties but maintained that "the U.S. military never targets civilians." The intended target of the strike remains unknown.

Experts cited by the Times questioned the use of such a large bomb in a densely populated area, saying international humanitarian law requires minimizing civilian harm.

Sometimes I had wondered why there was so much back-and-forth, so much tension in the Gulf that seemed deliberate, and who would be profiting from it.

Two types of people are profiting from this: those who know about or coordinate Trump’s announcements and get ahead of the market, and his son-in-law Kushner, who goes around with the collection bag raising billions from the funds of the GCC countries, which are practically paying a survival tax.

Israeli forces raided a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees training centre in occupied East Jerusalem. Staff were detained, tear gas and stun grenades were fired, and a fire broke out. The raid follows warnings Israel planned to demolish the facility.

In an interview with The New York Times, Zohran Mamdani says he believes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "belongs in The Hague," for being a war criminal and pointing to the International Criminal Court arrest warrant.

Pressed repeatedly on whether New York City could arrest Netanyahu if he visited for the UN General Assembly, Mamdani says his administration would review all of its legal obligations and follow New York City law rather than "write our own laws."

He says the city is actively examining what legal options, if any, would be available while stressing that any decision would be guided by existing law.
