DEVELOPING STORY: Pag-aresto sa senior citizen na myembro ng Bayan Muna, 'di makatarungan ayon sa grupo

Sa isinagawang Bonifacio Day protest nitong Nobyembre 30 sa Maynila, dinumog at inaresto ng kapulisan ang isang 62-taong gulang na stroke survivor at myembro ng Bayan Muna - San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan chapter na kinikilalang si Ka Nilo.

Agad rumesponde sina former Cong. Ferdie Gaite ng Bayan Muna at Cong. Arlene Brosas ng Gabriela Women's Party, pero hinarangan daw sila ng mga pulis at hindi binigyan ng impormasyon tungkol sa pag-aresto.

Ayon sa Bayan Muna, malayo sa naging gitgitan sa pagitan ng mga nagpoprotesta at kapulisan si Ka Nilo, pero biglang hinablot siya ng aabot sa 6 na pulis at hiniwalay sa kanyang kasama.

Balak daw kasuhan ng Manila police si Ka Nilo ng illegal assembly, direct assault, at disobedience.

Ayon sa Bayan Muna, walang binigay na dahilan sa pag-aresto. Nang tanungin pa raw ni Ka Nilo kung bakit sya kinuha, sinabi lang sa kanya ng isang pulis, "Bayan Muna ka eh, 'di ba?"

Kasalukuyan pa ring naka-detain sa Criminal Investigation Office ng MPD ang inarestong Bayan Muna member.

Mariing kinundena ng Bayan Muna ang anila'y hindi makatarungang pag-aresto kay Ka Nilo at nananawagan para sa agarang paglaya niya.
