Hi everyone,
I would like to take a moment to address an important update regarding the total supply of $SHIB on our website. As you may have noticed, the numbers have changed. The total burnt from initial supply is now 410,630,074,492,220, and the total supply is now 589,369,925,507,779.
We have been tracking burns that occur within verified burn addresses, but there are transactions that have been sent to the $SHIB contract address that are also unrecoverable. This could be due to both intentional and unintentional reasons. As of now, the amount of SHIB transactions sent into the $SHIB contract stands at 237,970,848,115 $SHIB, with a value of $2,608,160 (USD).
We’ve been informed on other transactions that were sent to other contracts with ownership renounced, I will provide an update on this soon. I do advise against this approach if it is done intentionally since it makes it difficult to track, there could be dozens of contracts like this that we are unaware of. I would recommend using only verified null addresses to simplify the process.
If you have any information about a contract that is renounced with ownership set to a null address that have sent $SHIB to it, please email us via our website so that we can verify it. It is true that many tokens are locked in wallets where users forget their key phrases, but unfortunately, those will always be unaccounted for since it's something that can't be proven.
To provide you with an update on the numbers, for the month of March, we reported 6,782,788,547 tokens burnt, with 326,548,824 sent to the contract that will give us a total of 7,109,337,371. So far this year, there have been 1,002,593,057 tokens sent to the $SHIB contract. For the year 2022, we reported 83,347,071,504 tokens sent to dead wallets, but there were 17,150,817,835 $SHIB that were unaccounted for (sent to the contract), bringing the total to 100,497,889,339 $SHIB burnt.
I do want to apologize for my absence from this account. I've been dealing with some personal and work-related issues that have kept me busy, and I haven't been able to give Shibburn the attention it deserves. Nevertheless, I'm deeply grateful for the support.
In the coming days, I will be making an announcement about some exciting Web3 projects we've been working on that will be integrated with the revamped Shibburn site. These include a marketplace, wallet, and a few other surprises, powered by Shib token. Stay tuned for more details.
