Everyone online keeps saying Japan’s protests are about immigration, but that’s not true. The real issue is the Ministry of Finance. People are angry about consumption tax, rising food prices, and the feeling that the Ministry acts like a shadow government.

Social media is what amplified it, millions of posts on X, YouTube, and TikTok pushed people to the streets, just like how #EndSARS gained momentum in Nigeria.

Immigration only enters the conversation because far right parties are using it for political clout, but the protests themselves are rooted in economic frustration, not foreigners.
