ONE TAPE NOBODY WANTED TO WATCH
In 2008 a teenage girl in Rochdale told police she had been ra*ed. The Crown Prosecution Service @CPSUK watched hours of her taped testimony, had DNA evidence, and decided a jury would not find her credible. They dropped the case.
While that was happening, an NHS sexual health worker named Sara Rowbotham was doing the opposite of nothing.
Between 2004 and 2011 she sent 181 referrals to police and social services flagging the exploitation of girls in the area. Nobody acted on them.
In 2014, 2 years after 9 men went to prison off the back of this, the council made her redundant.
In 2011 a new chief prosecutor landed in the job. Nazir Afzal @nazirafzal pulled up the same interview tape everyone else had ignored.
Partway through the girl's testimony, the officer interviewing her yawned. Afzal reversed the CPS decision within days.
9 men were convicted in 2012. Years later a second, entirely separate Rochdale network surfaced, different girls, different men, decades of abuse nobody caught the first time round.
Its ringleader Mohammed Zahid got 35 years in October 2025. Same town, 2 rings, both missed for over a decade.
Afzal didn't stop there. He prosecuted @BBCNews presenter Stuart Hall for decades of child abuse. Then he turned on the Metropolitan Police, who have declined to investigate allegations involving Prince Andrew 3 separate times, in 2015, 2021 and again in December 2025.
He told @Channel4News "I can't think of any other reason" why the Met wouldn't investigate. For saying that out loud he got death threats.
The English Defence League camped outside his house demanding he be deported. He was born in Birmingham.
The CPS let him go in 2015. Their official line was efficiency savings.
So here's the scoreboard. The woman who spent a decade raising the alarm lost her job. The man who finally acted on it lost his job too.
The force that spent a decade finding reasons not to look at a prince kept theirs intact.
Nobody who behaved badly in this story paid for it. Everybody who did the right thing did.

A Somali refugee just blew the entire welfare racket wide open.
He says they TOLD him to refuse assimilation and jump straight onto Section 8 and government benefits. That’s the “system.”
“I was told to go find discounted housing, get on Section 8, sign up for community benefits.”
And when he suggested actually integrating?
His own community ATTACKED him.
“The community treated welfare like a way of life. I said we can do better. They said no.”
He came here at 29, fully aware of what he escaped in Somalia. And even HE is shocked at the fraud and rot in Minnesota.

Here are 7 physical ways to interrupt the spiral and feel alive again: 👇
1. Use your hands to make something.
In 1983 the BBC set a camera in Richard Feynman's living room. He talked for 66 minutes and wrote 0 equations.
The film is called "Fun to Imagine." Shot at his home in Altadena. 1 chair, 1 Nobel laureate, no script, no slides.
He describes fire as sunlight a tree trapped years before. Burning the log releases it back into the room.
He explains why a rubber band stretches. Why a mirror swaps left and right yet leaves up and down alone.
Then the interviewer asks how magnets work.
Feynman turns down the shortcut: "I can't explain that attraction in terms of anything else that's familiar to you."
That refusal carries the whole film. He teaches a way of seeing before he hands over a single fact.
Feynman died 5 years after the recording. The full version still circulates in HD.

A Stanford psychiatrist says modern anxiety isn’t always caused by danger.
It’s caused by small habits that make your body feel threatened when nothing is wrong.

[RG911Team] How do you bend a massive steel beam into a horseshoe shape without breaking it?
These 9/11 cleanup workers discovered this at ground zero and can’t explain it.
Jet fuel and office fires can’t do this to steel.
But this isn’t the only weird thing that happened to steel at the World Trade Center.
Investigators, researchers and cleanup crews discovered steel beams and columns that were melted, and in some cases partially evaporated.
This requires temperatures so high that only military-grade incendiary devices can reach them.
And this is why structural engineers, physicists and chemists have joined our call for a real 9/11 investigation.
Whatever did this to the steel has been treated like a state secret, and that secrecy needs to stop.

A Stanford neuroscientist warns high cortisol wrecks memory, enlarges your fear center, and makes your brain feel broken.
If I wanted to lower it naturally, I’d do these 8 things every day:
1. Walk barefoot on grass for 5–7 minutes.
Cool your potatoes. Seriously.
Chris Kresser on JRE dropped a wild tip: bake or boil a potato, let it cool, and the resistant starch forms. It won’t spike your blood sugar like a hot one does.
Even better, the potato diet. Eat plain potatoes (cooled) for days and people drop half a pound a day on average. Spontaneous calorie drop + gut microbiome feast.
Cooling cooked potatoes creates resistant starch, which acts like fiber, it resists digestion in the small intestine, feeds beneficial gut bacteria, and lowers the glycemic response, helping with blood sugar control and satiety.
Simple, old-school hack that actually works.
🎬The classic short film One-Minute Time Machine (2013) remains the most brilliant, dark comedic take on time travel ever made. 😂🍿🍿🍿
In just five minutes, this short completely dismantles the standard sci-fi romance trope with a genuinely horrifying existential twist. What starts as a guy using a pocket-sized time machine to fix a bad conversation with a girl repeatedly takes a pitch-black turn when she reveals her doctorate in quantum mechanics. The realization that the machine doesn't actually rewind time—but instead kills the user and creates a clone in a parallel universe—is a masterclass in dark sci-fi writing. It’s tight, perfectly paced, and manages to deliver a better sci-fi concept in five minutes than most $100M Hollywood blockbusters achieve in two hours.

“ADHD is not a disorder of not knowing what to do. It’s a disorder of not doing what you already know.”
Dr. Russell Barkley just delivered one of the clearest explanations of ADHD I’ve ever heard.
He says the brain can be split in two: the back part acquires knowledge, the front part (the executive system) uses it. ADHD acts like a meat cleaver that severs the two.
You already have the skills and information other people your age have. You just can’t apply them when it counts.
That’s why life becomes an endless series of last-minute crises. You’re time-blind — you can only deal with what’s right in front of you. The further away a goal or deadline is, the less real it feels.
The solution isn’t teaching more skills. It’s changing the environment at the exact point where the problem occurs — the “point of performance.”
It’s a game-changing way to understand why traditional approaches often fail.
