The 8th grade regional exam of #Tigray has began today. More than 120,000 students are registered. My appreciation goes to all those involved in the preparation. All the best to our students.
The most futile and foolish sign of genociders is they all attempt to hide their gruesome crimes, that is exactly what #Ethipia, #Eritrea and #Amharas are doing trying to cover the sun with their bloody hands. No matter what they will be accountable for their crimes in #Tigrai.
Great that @UNFPAEthiopia has removed the false report from their website. We now ask for a proper apology to the survivor & supporter whose stories were manipulated & used for PR purposes without their consent. This incident is an indicator of larger underlying issues. We urge the organization + thier funding partners to reevaluate their intervention in Tigray & take corrective measures that prioritize the overall well-being as well as meaningful healing of intended beneficiaries.

The UN-led response in Ethiopia was a failure. It’s time for accountability. Most telling is the UN’s silence in relation to the many cases of harassment, arbitrary arrest and torture of humanitarian staff – many of them Tigrayans https://t.co/OVZaSmJDf6
You @OCHA_Ethiopia are part of the genocidal regime. You hid the UN system failure in #Ethiopia as reported by "INTER-AGENCY HUMANITARIAN EVALUATION OF THE RESPONSE TO THE CRISIS IN NORTHERN ETHIOPIA".
Today I joined Ambassador Shibata Hirinori of @JapanEthiopia in a groundbreaking event at Negash(Nejashi) for the rehabilitation of an elementary school and a high school totally destroyed during the war on Tigray. The Ambassador underscored Japanese government commitment to help in the recovery and rehabilitation efforts in Tigray. Japan has since the signing of the Pretoria agreement been supporting Tigray on a number of areas including healthcare, education, water and sanitation, supply of improved seeds as well as in the reintegration of combatants. The Embassy has also been collaborating with @UNICEFEthiopia & other agencies in similar endeavors in Tigray. These programs are expected to be further enhanced in the next two or three years.
The usual Eritrean government response to criticism of its gross human rights abuses. Deny, defame, attack, admit nothing, vague retorts, no specific responses, etc. etc.

UN Security Council in June will hold an open briefing and closed consultations on Sudan. Resolution 2715 which terminated the mandate of the UN Integrated Transition Mission in Sudan, requested the Secretary-General to brief every 120 days on the “UN’s efforts to support Sudan on its path towards peace and stability”. The Sec Gen envoy for Sudan Ramtane Lamamra is expected to brief during the closed consultations
