Hats off to Jalen Brunson.
Drafted late in the 2nd Round in 2018, to now a NBA Finals MVP.
Scouts can’t predict heart, skills and the determination of a father to see his son succeed.
Brunson was put in a position to succeed and did.
Winning the NBA Championship is about… … … timing ⏱️
The avg. age of the Knicks starters is 28yo.
The avg. age of the Spurs starters is only 23yo.
San Antonio had the physical and skill edge, but lacked poise and grace under pressure. So many blown leads.
25pt lead with 8mins remaining in Q2. The Spurs have a hot hand, but the Knicks have laid an egg defensively so far.
Also, I can confirm: I’m officially done with celebrity culture.
It’s that time of year for baseless Ben Simmons to the Australian NBL chatter.
‘He seems intensely image conscious with career earnings of $200M+ … but I could see him in a Taipans jersey, flying commercial, taking orders from Adam Forde for $800K the hard way…’
The Batoota Advocate office must think they are sooo cool - they’ve just so darn trendy, with their fingers on the pulse of what we’re all thinking! Haha yeah haha oh, no you didn’t haha
PS. I hate the internet
The inexperience of the Spurs is showing. The Wembanyama turnover late was an obvious error, but the many 'jumping to pass' and 'throwing passes into defenders in the passing lines' are emblematic of a team ahead of its time. Down 2-0 having lost twice at home, not looking good.
Huge win by the Knicks to steal home court advantage. The Spurs immaturity presented itself at the worst possible time. Bad close (19-29 in Q4). Brunson is a coach's son alright. Incredible poise. Fox had a shocker (3/13 - 3TO - 5PF). G2 on Saturday.
The (Olympic and WC) Boomers have a REAL problem - Bryce Cotton is better than any backcourt player available for Australia, but unfortunately for him, he doesn't fit the mould, nor does he have an invitation to the Australian basketball boys club. Bummer.
Tough night for Chet Holmgren. He wasn't so much as taken out of the game. He rendered himself obsolete. The Thunder looked tired at key moments, had players out injured. I'm surprised by the loss at home, but not shocked. Wembanyama altered many shots. Great Finals incoming.
We now interrupt the atmosphere of a Game 6 NBA WCF game and American telecast to head up to the upper, upper deck to listen to some guy, who's never played and just spouts platitudes, so we can splash around the Hungry Jack's logo. US sport in AUS needs a shakeup #NBA
Wow! The Spurs are a young team, who took some hits and bounced back like pros. They never let the momentum of OKC and their home crowd get to them. Class.
Pretty pathetic from the Pistons.
Their bumbling in the first round didn’t surprise me either.
- They shoot and make few threes
- Tobias Harris has a high usage rate
- Regular season win totals mean very little
This playoffs was a learning exercise.
