JoJo’s, Gintama and Hunter x Hunter in that order. I like games (Outer Wilds | Undertale | Hollow Knight). Might be a little too woke. Majoring in Biology.📍UGA
@Lunay678 Natural selection is the favoring of more fit genetic mutations for survival. When individuals with better fitness survive and thrive more than the others, they pass down their “fit” genes more, making them dominant over time.
@Lunay678 Evolution doesn’t “know” anything. It isn’t a force with agency, but a natural process. The answer is that the tigers that were born with a mutation that gives them their colour were more successful hunters, thriving more and spreading their genes
@JayExci I’m not saying being gay is the equivalent of rape of course, just that using nature to prove your point isn’t very good since it’s abundantly clear that Human society has become decently distant from nature. We should normalize gay rights, just not by saying it’s seen in animals
@JayExci I don’t like the “actually some animals are gay” argument because it’s appointing the human concept of sexuality onto other animals when they don’t treat sexuality in the same way at all. Many animals also “rape” should rape in Humans also be justified? That’s an appeal to nature
@michal_motyka@Phiophills Idk, Odyssey might be his least memorable movie simply because it’s an adaptation. I loved the movie but to say it left a stronger impact than Interstellar or Oppenheimer to me would be a lie.
@Phiophills They act like people think about Homer’s original poem on the daily LOL. “It will be forgotten in less than 10 years” yeah but I also don’t go remembering about Homer’s poem either. I just remember reading it, like how I’ll remember watching Nolan’s movie
@AnJa_UwU@ThatBoyCrickett@philliplede Populations who stayed in Africa and the near Equatorial region developed darker skin to build more resistance to the higher concentration of UV in that environment. That is literally the only reason different skin tones came to be and other differences are purely societal. 2/2
@AnJa_UwU@ThatBoyCrickett@philliplede Homo Sapiens originated in Africa and migrated to other lands with different climates. Populations at higher latitudes (modern Northern Europeans) developed lighter skin to increase UV absorption in less intense environments. 1/
@philliplede “Heathen” and “Heretic” exist. Also Christians and Jews aren’t considered to be kuffar in Islam as they’re people of the book (ahl al kitab)
@steveyadams2@Seshermix@s_xcellence Need to see people playing Hanzo as a flex DPS because they refuse to treat him as a hitscan because he technically shoots projectiles
@GoldChaos999@Kurt53267@rebonsible Islam doesn’t glorify it. Religious extremism never represents the actual religious teachings (and I’m saying this as a borderline anti theist). I’ve lived surrounded by muslims my whole life, they’re some of the nicest, most hospitable and respectful people out there
@DreamDoping@s_xcellence The terms have sort of “ascended” past their baseline definition. A hitscan DPS is no longer simply a DPS with a hitscan weapon but a DPS who shoots down mid applying pressure on the frontline and maybe get a pick from a distance. They don’t necessarily need to be hitscan.
@GoldChaos999@Kurt53267@rebonsible No, many people from many different backgrounds commit acts of terrorism. The difference is it’s only labeled as “terrorism” when it’s a muslim/arab
@therealcheezy19@rebonsible Calling “abolishing the first amendment” an atrocity while sucking Donald “fuck the first amendment” Trump’s dick is actually some of the funniest shit I’ve read. Even then, I don’t recall Biden trying to abolish 1 or 2A
@joe_paras@ALegendaryDrops Shounen, the most popular demographic, and Shounen Jump, the most popular magazine, appeal to young teenage to teenage boys (literally what the word “shounen” means in Japanese)
@furiadidonna@DanniBrener@Sarahjdublin Just because it is reliable enough to keep our species alive doesn’t mean it’s an absolute rule in any way. Insulin is essential for our survival, yet it doesn’t mean its production in the body is an absolute rule.
@furiadidonna@DanniBrener@Sarahjdublin No one denied its reliable, yes nature would have killed us off if we didn’t have a reliable way to sexually reproduce and pass our genes down to the next generation but it still doesn’t make sexe a dichotomy. An in between exists, and that rules out the binary by definition
@NormyWolf@DanniBrener@Sarahjdublin Even then, people who do identify outside the societal norms applied do exist, and they’re being ridiculed more than not.
@NormyWolf@DanniBrener@Sarahjdublin A trans person will most likely identify with the opposite gender because of connection with the social norms of said construct. It’s harder to identify with something more abstract as you don’t have much of a basis to go off of.
