Akwa Ibom Governor Pastor Umo Eno, leads other passengers, including Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo on the maiden flight from the Smart Terminal Building of the Victor Attah Int’l Airport
We all know that the biggest barrier for many farmers has always been cost. By cutting equipment access by over 50 percent, the state is removing one of the hardest entry points into large-scale farming.
Yesterday, I commissioned the Agricultural Equipment Leasing Facility at Ekpri Nsukara, Uyo, as part of the Agricultural Revolution component of our ARISE Agenda.
The facility will help farmers move from subsistence farming to mechanised agriculture, making food production easier, faster, and more profitable. Leasing of the equipment will be subsidized by 50 percent to support our farmers.
I commend the young professionals who delivered this project with excellence and dedication, and I encourage farmers, cooperatives, and local government councils to make full use of it.
Our goal is to increase food production, create wealth, and make food more available and affordable for our people.
This facility is part of a broader agricultural push by Gov. Eno that also includes free food distribution, agricultural input provision, and a monthly work-free Friday for civil servants to farm. This administration is serious about food.
Commercial farmers in Akwa Ibom have already confirmed it: the high cost of renting equipment was one of their biggest burdens. Gov. Umo Eno heard them and responded with infrastructure and a 50% subsidy.
Governor Umo Eno has specifically called on local government chairmen to hire this equipment for their farmers. This is a government that wants LGAs to be active partners in agricultural development, not passive observers. Tell your LGA Chairman now oh
From the beaches of Ibeno to the calm streets of Uyo, Akwa Ibom now has a direct window to West Africa. The Uyo to Accra route gives more people a chance to experience one of Nigeria’s cleanest and most peaceful destinations. #UyoToAccra
Connecting Akwa Ibom to the world is no longer a slogan. On May 2, the first international flight from Uyo becomes reality as Ibom Air heads to Accra. #UyoToAccra
I am pleased to announce that following Presidential approval for the upgrade of Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, to international status, the maiden international flight from Uyo to Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana, is set to take off on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The historic flight will be operated by our flagship carrier, Ibom Air, with a return flight scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026.
This milestone marks another major step in our commitment to expanding aviation capacity, improving global connectivity, and positioning Akwa Ibom as a preferred destination for tourism, trade, and investment.
I deeply appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for granting the approval, and the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his support in making this vision a reality. I also acknowledge the contributions of past leaders who laid the foundation for the growth of our aviation sector.
The Medical Residence at Medical Village shows that healthcare investment is not only equipment and buildings. Staff welfare is part of quality healthcare too. #ARISEProjectImpact
Imagine spending years under leaking roofs, mud walls or unsafe shelter, then receiving keys to a modern home. That emotional shift cannot be measured only with statistics. #ARISEProjectImpact
The Aviation Village project sits within Victor Attah International Airport, covering 15.072 hectares with 62 two-bedroom flats and 55 three-bedroom flats. #ARISEProjectImpact
Did you know official residences for Local Government Chairmen are being developed across the 31 LGAs? Grassroots leadership also needs structure and stability. #ARISEProjectImpact
