Last weekend at Njabini. Daily, hundreds of truck-loads mature logs being ferried, ex Aberdares Forest; was disturbing and horrifying! I bet this has gone on for a while - maybe a couple of years. Would love to see aerial view of where the trees are being harvested from...
Kenya wants to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
Meanwhile forests are being grabbed.
Water towers are being encroached.
Charcoal burning continues in broad daylight.
And the same government approving tree planting is approving logging licenses.
You cannot fill a bucket with a hole at the bottom.
Plant the trees.
But first stop cutting the ones already standing.
Sadly, we have received the shicking news of his passing away - and that his body was taken to City Mortuary, where his family has identified him. Wonderful colleague and friend, with the sharpest mind. My condolences to the family and friends. Erick Mwendwa Maingi, RIP.
@KagoAvin@randomworldke Oh yes! Tourism is another cash cow for the local and national governments. On the road, the numerous licenses that adorn a TSV Landcruiser windscreen leave you wondering if they were planned as sunshields.
@BeaumontWest Kwanza, zike za Eastern Bypass hapo Utawala! And driving on that road at night is a nightmare of poor visibility - full-lights ex oncoming traffic and poor road markings. Kukinyesha, unatii...
Nairobi's Mombasa Rd - Footbridge under construction at Panari Hotel area, causing daily traffic jams inbound, ex GM to Ole Sereni.
#kenha why not construction work at night, to allow for free-flow of traffic during the day?
Man-hours lost and lots of inconvenience.
A pair of asses casually strolling Mombasa Road, I guess en route to Nairobi CBD to join other asses for a political rally. I fear this won't end well...
Someone has shared a video of the bumps at night.
These bumps disappear into darkness, giving drivers no time to react. Until they are properly marked and designed, every night drive becomes a gamble.
Dear @ntsa_kenya
Many city matatus have fitted this type of blinding floodlights and this is very dangerous for other road users.
When did the Authority approved this and what remedy is there for the rest of us poor road users?
And @NPSOfficial_KE usually greet them happily.

Veteran rally journalist Anwar Sidi has made an urgent appeal to the public to help recover electronic valuables stolen last night at his South C Estate home in Nairobi.
Sidi said burglars broke into his house and made away with a MacBook Pro laptop and several external hard drives containing decades of irreplaceable work.
Among the stolen items is a MacBook Pro, Model A2338 EMC 3578, serial number FVFF32N7Q05H, which Sidi said had all his current work.
Also taken were five external hard drives containing what he described as a lifetime collection of photographs and data spanning more than four decades.
“The external drives have photos and data from 1983 to 2025, including images from the 2025 Classic Safari and material from the WRC Safari Rally project,” Sidi said in an appeal shared on social media platforms.
He added that the loss goes beyond the monetary value of the equipment, noting that much of the material is professionally and historically significant and difficult, if not impossible, to replace.
Sidi has appealed to anyone who may come across the laptop or the external drives, or receive information about their whereabouts, to contact him immediately.
He also urged the public to share the information widely on social media to increase the chances of recovery.
Anyone with information can reach Anwar Sidi on 0722 786 714 or 0735 786 714.
The Constitution is on trial, and so is every shilling in PUBLIC DEBT incurred since 1963. The High Court has agreed that the issues raised in our Odious Debt Petition (E216 of 2025) are weighty and worthy of empanelment consideration by the Chief Justice.
In our replying affidavit, led by the 4th Petitioner, we firmly opposed the Attorney General’s application to strike out the petition and responded decisively to the National Assembly’s affidavit.
We argue that the AG’s application is frivolous, unconstitutional, and a blatant attempt to sabotage public interest litigation. Instead of addressing our evidence showing 61 years of unaccounted borrowing, they’re trying to silence it procedurally.
The Constitution (Article 229(4)(g)) is crystal clear: Each year, public debt must be audited and reported within six months after a financial year ends.
This hasn’t happened since 2010. You cannot now retroactively claim you’re auditing from 1963 to avoid facing this case.
Between 2014 to 2023, the Office of the Auditor-General received over KES 42 billion to perform its mandate. Yet it has failed to lawfully audit our public debt or hold a single official accountable. That’s exactly what we’re challenging.
We are confronting a KES 6.95 trillion odious debt trap, and we’re naming the perpetrators of this economic crime committed against our Republic.
Given the magnitude, complexity, and constitutional weight of this petition, we’ve asked the Hon. Chief Justice to empanel a five or seven judge bench to hear this case.
We specifically urge the Chief Justice to assign a Super Bench, excluding the original 2015 petition bench, to determine the matter on merit. We cannot allow an entire generation’s future to be buried in shadows of impunity and silence.
This is Kenya’s moment to choose constitutionalism over convenience, truth over technicalities, and accountability over apathy.
And to the people of Kenya: do not lose hope. This petition is not just about the past. It’s about reclaiming our future. We are fighting to dismantle debt regimes that have stolen our taxes, mortgaged dreams, and betrayed our children.
A new Kenya is possible. One where every shilling is accounted for, every official is answerable, and the Constitution is not a suggestion but the supreme command of the people.
We will not stop. We will not be silenced. We will win.

@MuriraKinoti@mohammedhersi@KURAroads At Ole Sereni Hotel junction, the Southern Bypass (Lang'ata bound) should be linked to outbound ICD Road.
A good PlanB for Mombasa Road.
Presently one has to unnecessarily drive all way to Carnivore interchange, then turn back to get to ICD Road.
The Law Society of Kenya, in conjunction with the Senior Counsel Bar, is firmly opposing the proposed amendment to the Advocates Act that seeks to grant the President unilateral authority to confer the rank of Senior Counsel.
The proposed amendments risk undermining decades of hard-won standards by shifting authority to confer this prestigious rank to political officeholders.
This process must remain merit-based, peer-reviewed and independent of political influence. Senior Counsel should continue to represent legal excellence earned through professional achievement, not an automatic title tied to public office.
We uphold the principle that only advocates who meet the highest standard of distinction are conferred this honour. Safeguarding this process protects not just the dignity of the rank, but the integrity of our profession.
We call on Hon. George Gitonga Murugara to unconditionally withdraw this amendment and reaffirm the existing legal framework supported by public participation. The Law Society will continue to engage constructively, as provided under the Law Society of Kenya Act, to shape reforms in defense of our professional standards.
