Telling the UK to "just get AC" during heatwaves is ridiculous because we are hitting unprecedented 37.7°C (99.9°F) heatwaves in June.
Our brick homes are insulated to trap heat, not release it. Retrofitting is expensive, energy bills are soaring, and our grid can't handle it. We never needed AC before because 37.7°C early-summer heat was completely unheard of.
This isn't a simple appliance fix. It is a terrifying reality of climate change smashing a 50-year-old June record three days in a row. Pumping more AC just burns more fossil fuels, fueling the vicious cycle.
We need structural solutions, not lazy advice.
Our pale blue dot. The only planet we know of that’s rare and unique enough to house the most remarkable phenomenon in the universe: life. And we’re all too busy destroying our planet, destroying life and letting a handful of people control the global resources while we sit on our phones and doom scroll. Pretty sad when you think about it.
Notts County fans in wheel chairs are made to sit amongst the home supporters at Harrogate as Harrogate can't accommodate them in the away end.. What a mess that is 🤦🏼♂️
Christopher Nolan planned the ending of The Dark Knight Rises early on.
David S. Goyer revealed the first idea: Alfred seeing Bruce alive in Florence. It eased Alfred’s fear that Bruce had no way out but death and showed he had found life.
Functional depression is real. You work, joke around, you show kindness, take care of people around you. But mentally you're drowning in your own thoughts but still smiling and nobody knows it
I am doing a Masters focusing on disability and football fandom. Therefore, I would love to hear from football fans with disabilities about their matchday experience. If you are interested please don't hesitate to contact me on here or with my email in the post below #notts#COYP
Hello guys, a quick one from me.
Sunday 6th July - There’s a charity game for MIND being held at Ilkeston Town that I am extremely happy to be involved in taking place.
Today I actually found out that I’ll be captaining (yes running around in a Notts kit and armband, sign me up) the away side on the day.
The likes of Jim O’Brien (unfortunately I have to play against him) are confirmed to be involved and there’s a lot more familiar faces playing too.
I believe tickets are £3 adults and £1 for children, and all tickets of course will be submitted as donations.
I thought I’d share the news above with you all in hope we could spread the word, so any retweets would be amazing, and it would be amazing to see so many of you there.
I’m looking forward to leading my team out! 🖤
